Today’s performance cements that as the best pick he could make.

I hate it for Tommy though. He was 100% in his head thinking about getting the monkey off his back all day.

You can’t have a worse scenario for Fleetwood

No way there’s 12 Americans playing better than Keegan right now.

Add in that it’s being played in the Northeast, he just seems like a lock.

Feel bad for Tommy. I love watching him play, but that was rough.

No Laying Up recap should be hilarious.

Keegan owes it to himself after Zach Johnson decided to pick friends instead him when he was more deserving.

It started on Hole 1 actually. Feel bad for Fleetwood, very likeable guy. I hope he can finally win one in the US to get that monkey off his back.

And got smoked. I get Speith can occasionally still play well, but he’s been just terrible off the tee for years. I like Ricky Fowler, but there was a reason he was about to miss his 3rd Ryder Cup in a row. I did agree with the JT pick though, he has a mean streak that you want for match play. Which is why I’d have taken Bradley and Glover or as much I can’t stand the douchebag, Patrick Reed.

if Keegan stays hot, can he get to 6 in rankings?

I would have taken him and Glover last time too

On his chances:
quote:

"Yeah, it's insane. (Laughing.) My whole life every year I was out here I wanted to play on the Ryder Cup team, and then this would be the first year where maybe I didn't want to. I just wanted to be the captain and, of course, you know, this is what happens. But we'll see. I'm going to do whatever I think is best for the team. Whether that's me on the team -- this certainly changes a lot of things. I was never going to play on the team unless I had won a tournament and so that's changed, but we'll see."

Currently
Scottie
Xander
Spaun
Henley
Bryson
JT

All in. * means I’d select them
7 - Morikawa *
8 - Griffin *
9 - Keegan *
10 - English
11 - McNealy
12 - Harman
13 - Novak
14 - Cantlay *
15 - Burns
16 - Hoge
17 - C Young
18 - Berger *
19 - Finau
20 - Glover *

Now before someone gets their titties in a twist, what is the format for the Ryder Cup, and what are the most important stats. When you go look at their stats, Berger and Glover are easy picks.

Putting and birdie is often the most important stats and yet you flew right over burns

On the NLU podcast this morning, they said he would have to either win the Open, win a playoff event, or get a few 2nd place finishes in big events. Even then, it would be close.

No they’re not for Ryder Cup.

In match play foursomes and four ball the most important stats are fairways and greens. You’re not playing a municipal course, it’s Bethpage Black in US open conditions. Fairways and Greens will be king the first 2 days. You put your partner in bad shape off the tee more you lose. Burns hits 10% fewer fairways and 5% fewer greens.

You do know 2 of the 3 days are team format right? Get too far behind on the first 2 days it’s hard to win.
