I am considering trading my Tacoma in for a Colorado or Canyon.

I am looking for a more comfortable ride and good tech.

How has Chevy/GMC quality vs. Current Toyota?

Any preference between GMC and Chevy?

Colorados look weird to me. Don’t know anything about them though

I got a Tacoma years back and my best friend got a Colorado at the same time.

He wants a Tacoma next time.

Tacoma to Colorado/Canyon

My son went from a Taco to a Colorado with the Bison off road package.

It is a MUCH nicer riding truck and for whatever reason has a lot more room.

I really like my canyon. Only thing I want is a few more inches of bed room and bench seats.

I have a Canyon AT4 and cross-shopped the Tacoma.

The Tacoma gets all the fan fare, and somewhat rightly so. But it’s not because it’s comfortable or high tech.

The Canyon has been great. They only come with the Turbo 4-cyl so some people don’t like that. But it’s fairly reliable and powerful. My main issue is the gas mileage is not much better. I average around 21-22, with a “high” of only 25. That’s mostly highway too.

You’ll read complaints of the infotainment having glitches/issues, but that seems to plague a lot of vehicles now. I haven’t had any issues with mine.

Don't own either but have rented both several times. I'd take the Canyon over a taco without question. Reliability used to be a thing with Toyota but their newer vehicles are suspect especially trucks. Enterprise rental manager said they won't buy tundras due to engine failures.

I’ve got a 2020 Canyon and haven’t had a single problem. It’s been a great truck 147k miles

I’ll sacrifice a little comfort for longevity.

I’m not ready to go all in on the UAW just yet. I’ve put 450,000+ trouble free miles in 2 Toyotas.

That's where my heart is at. V6 ftw

The water pump is in a bad location, though. If it goes out, it's a costly repair. Otherwise, my vote is likely with the frontier. Especially for the cost difference. Even if I secretly want the taco more, damn is it 15k+ more than the Nissan. I could do a lot with 15k

Isn't GM having issues with the turbo 4 cylinders?

My son had a 2023 Canyon. The transmission shite the bed at 60,000 miles. The infotainment system was replaced at about 20,000 miles. Thats the bad.

The good, I personally think the GMC Canyon is the best looking truck on the Market. It tows really well, he pulled my 22' with no problem, lots of power with that turbo 4. The ride is pretty good.

ETA: He traded it on F150 FX4 4×4 with the 5.0 blackout package. They both get the same gas mileage.

It was a 2023 the 1st model year, I edited. He travels for work so he stacks a lot of miles. He has 23,000 miles on his F150 that he bought in November.

No way I’d do that but post up after ragrets sets in. Edit assuming the Tacoma is not one of the newer ones that they ruined.
