Tell me about the journaling you do

Therapist strongly recommended I start journaling to track how I treat situations. I.E. do an audit of how do I feel versus the reality of the situation. Do I overgeneralize. Am I making assumptions, etc. Honestly think that sounds super helpful to actually dig into.
Obviously there is all sorts of sod journaling. Bird sightings, hobby journaling, etc.
Just curious what sort of journaling people on here do.

Why are you seeing a therapist? That will help us answer you.

Intake, output, weight change and to-do lists.

Eh, not really relevant to this discussion to be honest. I just used this as a preference for people to talk about what they do for journaling

Sure it is. Else you wouldn’t have said it.

I would start my journal about how the OT lounge is not the best place to take these thoughts. Do you go to a hardware store to buy milk?

Men in this country are so soft now. Life is tough let me go see another human who will coddle me in $300 sessions
Grab your nuts. Write that in your journal

I keep a professional journal. It inevitably has bleed over with personal stuff, but it's mostly about what I go through at work. It's so interesting to go back and read things you thought were big deals at the time were actually nothing. It's helped me calm down and bring down stress levels with a "this too shall pass" kind of attitude. Maybe that's age or maturity or whatever, but it's interesting to see where my head was at.

Don't listen to brother Hemp......he refused to journal and fled to Montana to escape his problems.......or the new sheriff. I'm not sure which.

That’s how I journal

Writing things down helps with my anxiety. It doesn’t have to be anything formal or complicated. Just writing down what you’re struggling with and your thoughts can give you a different way to see your feelings.
I have a worksheet I look at for unhealthy thought processes like black and white thinking/all or nothing thinking and it helps recognize my thoughts are anxious ones and nothing more.
