Jesus. Glad I wasn’t born to see that Grand Slam walk off off of Big Ben

The rant would have called for Ben’s head if the internet was around.

I have a hard time not putting Tanks Homer at 2 because of how great that game was. It was the epitome of an indestructible force meeting an immovable object

It’s weird saying this because the morris homer is so memorable and well known and was for the actual championship

But I think the Tommy tanks one was my favorite. When morris hit his, the LSU baseball machine was rolling and we had 2 recent titles. But Tommy’s home run was on the heels of a 13 year drought, our longest since LSU baseball became LSU baseball. Our intimidator was getting less intimidating, the rest of the SEC was catching up to us. That hit feels like it might have ushered in the 2 great era of LSU baseball

This one is last in terms of importance, but it was by far the 2nd most crazy game behind the 1996 game

It was bizarre as frick. 3-run lead bottom 10, 2 out, none on. Stanford loads the bases, but you feel like Big Ben is going to get out of it. Even while watching it, grand slam was the LAST thought on my mind.

Then the lefty Paul Carey hits what looks like a pop fly to left and the wind just kept pushing and pushing and it clears the fence. It was very shocking.

What made it worse was that LSU would have needed only 2 more wins to win the championship and they had their pitching set up to do it. Greg Patterson was due to pitch next and he had been unhittable most of the year.

Trivia: Ben and Carey were teammates briefly with the Orioles in 1993

LSU vs Rice 2008

You are missing Blake Dean's 3 run double off the wall with all 3 base runners between home and 3B at the same time.

One run will score,
Two runs will score,
THREE RUNS WILL SCORE!
TIGERS WIN!

I mean…. It was pretty important. Beating Arky twice in a row in a playoff setting would be a tough feat. Plus the rest it gives us going into the finals. I’d say it was pretty damn important.

True, but that Miami baseball team reeked of arrogance that made the current Tennessee Vols seem like a bunch of humble monks.
The Morris home run was sweet on many levels

I agree about the Tommy Tanks homer, it signaled that we were back.
No way I would ever refer to the "Intimidator" as the "Intimidator". I considered it as a banner with our excedingly past national championships.

1. Morris

2. Tommy Tanks

3. Cresse

4. Jones

5. Walker

I get the Jones’ walk off happened last night and it’s on everyone’s mind. But I can’t put it higher

Tanks gets the nod over Cresse even thought Cresse’s hit was in a title game because that LSU Wake game is maybe the most intense nail biting baseball game I’ve ever watched. Flawless pitching from the 2 starters, Morgan’s play on the squeeze then capped off with the walk off homer.

Why would it be more difficult than Arkansas beating LSU twice in a row in a playoff setting. Especially when LSU already won 3 of 4

Wasn't Cresse struggling pretty bad at the plate when he hit that championship winner?

Last night was the only walk off where we weren't facing elimination in that game.

The national title winning walk offs were all in the single game championship.

Tanks homer, Todd Walker's walkoff, all were in the semifinal "if needed" game with both teams having one loss.

1 Morris
2 Cresse
3 White
4 Walker
5 Jones
6 Dean

All about situation. 6 didn't lead to a national title. 5 wasn't an elimination game and was tied. 3 and 4 were tied elimination games. 3 was a homer. 1 and 2 were elimination games for the national title. 2 was tied. 1 was trailing and a homer. Pretty easy actually.
