A now-defunct, Catholic-affiliated orphanage/trade school/whatever else that was built between the 1920s and 1940s. Apparently, tons of kids were abused there. State Senator Pat Connick (nephew of Harry Connick Sr.) has spent over a decade trying to secure the funds to purchase and re-purpose the property.

that's only one building...there are several buildings in the complex on both sides of Barataria Blvd.
