HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) - An unborn child was sadly killed after a shooting at Walk-On’s on Tatersall Drive in Hoover.

According to Hoover Police, officers responded to a shooting call between two employees at the restaurant.

When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old pregnant female with a gunshot wound to her abdomen.

The woman was taken to UAB Hospital by the Hoover Fire Department where she is expected to survive. Sadly, the unborn child died in the shooting.

Word is it was an accidental shooting while an employee was showing off the firearm to another kitchen employee.

Sad that it took a life.

I heard thus also. We'll see what the dude ends up getting charged with if it truly was an accident. What a completely stupid and preventable mistake.

Yeah, the story linked in the OP, said that it was caused by reckless handling of a firearm.

Make the POS who did it suffer. Don't kill him right away, make him feel some pain.

Nope, the lawyers will spin it into it being Walk Ons fault because they didn't provide firearm safety training for the employee and maternal kevlar for the mother who lost her child. Both will get millions

It's absolutely valid to lay some blame at the foot of Walk Ons. Maybe dont let your employees bring guns in the store, because terrible shite like this might happen.

But the shooter will not get a dime.

Every American citizen should have to go through a concealed carry course before turning 18. That class absolutely hammered the responsibility one has when holding/carrying a gun and vividly describes the legal ramifications to firing it. I wasn’t a kid and never treated guns as toys, but that class gave me a significantly more somber view on handling guns, especially pistols.

I’m going to guess walk-ons doesn’t tell their employees it’s ok to bring guns to work.

I don’t know about Alabama, but also seems like it would be illegal to even possess a weapon inside a place that’s basically a bar.

“Don’t let your employees bring guns in the store.” Are you stupid? You think they must pat down employees before entering the store? You sound like a POS plaintiff attorney. Well done, shite head.

I’ve been saying for years that schools should be teaching basic firearms safety and BASIC swimming lessons. Might be a little more productive than global warming
