As a conservative, what are some liberal policies you can get behind?

I think the only one I can really get behind is free lunch for school aged children during the school year. I see no reason why some of our tax dollars can’t got to feeding children while at school.
Outside of that I’m not sure I really have anything else I’d support. And maybe that isn’t something deeply liberal.

Environmental protection to a reasonable degree.

decriminalize weed on the federal level, leave it up to the states

I tend to think our national park system is pretty damn good.

Because of the slippery slope.
Just ask 4cubbies. She was angry that welfare/food stamp recipients kids were not receiving school lunches over the summer.

It’s not a slippery slope because, I did preface it by saying “while in school”

A basic healthcare plan, or at least fixing the massive problems of what we have now.

I believe we need a fast track to citizenship for people that have been here a long time and their kids. That horse is out of the barn and we need to just do it. Provide a grace period to come out and register and after that - anyone that doesn’t will be deported.
The contingencies are that they have no criminal record, not be in govt assistance and the border be secure moving forward.

Everything is slippery slope. Almost everything gets bloated and over regulated, but if you didn't have some degree of building standards or OSHA, you'd have shite collapsing and people getting killed left and right.

Well the problem isn't free lunch, i think a lot of schools do that anyway. The problem is free breakfast, lunch, & dinner, and meals during breaks and summer time.
Liberal policies... i think most republicans are already fairly liberal. The democrats have just taken it too far.
Policies I like:
-community college & urgent care should be nationalized
-eliminate monopolies & downsize corporations (the dems say they do this, but they dont. I think they got bought out long ago)
-just legalize weed. people are so sick of that being discussed.
-we need some form of legal abortion (maybe first trimester)
-That being said, I would want government benefits heavily reduced to pay for all of these things.

This is a prime example of a good idea exploited and ruined by progressives. I have no problem feeding kids if you’re compelling them to be in school but now these programs have morphed into a second welfare program.

They feed them hyper-processed crap, unfortunately. The days of lunchladies actually cooking for children are long gone.
When my son was in 2nd grade, I was helping out in the classroom when "breakfast" was delivered. One common item was sour candied raisins. literally raisins that were rolled in sugar and something like warhead dust.
The rest of the breakfast was crap too.
The worst part was ALL students were offered the food... the cooler had enough for every student in the room.
I was horrified to find that despite not being on the free/reduced rolls, cooking my son a wholesome breakfast and packing his lunch daily- he was still given acidic, sticky candied raisins to frick up his metabolism and ruin his teeth.

Nothing. There is not one single issue I agree with them on

Not really a "liberal" policy per se, but I believe that Christianity should be promoted in the public square and that the government should remove all barriers to the advancement of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

It then leads to laptops and iPads that we pay for for them to watch worldstar all day.
