Just finished a rewatch of this, I think it is awesome. How does it stack up with more seasoned TV viewers?
When taken in totality > GOT
Destiny is all!

Wasn't a huge fan of the movie, but loved the series portion of the show. Always preferred it over GOT.
Uhtred the GOAT.

It's entertaining as hell although repetitive.
Season 1 has one of the better climactic fights in movie or TV history. As the culmination of the drama of season 1, the emotions are portrayed insanely well in that fight .
AMAZING cinematography and active scenes in nature.
It's not an elite drama like GOT was at it's peak, but it's more like Rogue Heroes where it has silliness and seriousness and doesn't take itself too seriously with lots of action and characters.

Absolutely loved it even though it frustrated me at times.

It’s great. So great you don’t even care that Uhtred didn’t age a day in 70 years.

I loved the show, but I haven't gotten around to watching the movie since so many people say it wasn't great. The farther I get away from watching the show, the more I appreciate how the actor portrayed Alfred. He was a great character. ETA: Didn't realize I made a bit of a dad joke until after I posted this.

It’s the best thing Netflix has ever made. And the books are great too. This show could have had five more seasons with great, though a little repetitive, content.

They just tried to cram too much into a movie’s length of time. It’s not bad, just a bit disappointing when the rest of the show is so good.

Ran out of steam in the last season with Brida-Boss.

Vikings > The Last Kingdom

It was awesome. The English always put the screws to Uhtred

One of the best series that I have watched. Just finished this a few weeks ago. Watched all of Vikings and then Last Kingdom.

Man, I wanted this to be true but I do not agree. Might give Vikings another shot though since I just finished Andor and Mobland and need something new to watch.

Good series, but the sense of scale was off. It just felt like a few dozen people fighting a few dozen other people. (budget constraints no doubt)

I expect i will be in the minority on that opinion but Vikings is one of my favorite series of all time. I was so obsessed at one point i ordered a viking horn to drink out of while i watched it
To be fair i went into TLK not wanting to like it because so many had told me its better than Vikings. I watched the first season and did like it, but was burned out by then because Vikings is a really long series. Ill have to get back to it one day

I really enjoyed it at first but I didn't finish the last season or two. The books are a lot of fun. I read all of them.

Oh yeah I forgot about this. They definitely let Brida hang around too long and become too important.
