Between Liam Doyle-Tennessee and Zack Root-Arkansas…

I’ll take Arkansas.

Took 2/3 from them a month ago. Sure I’d rather be playing any of the other teams but Arkansas is a matchup we know we can win. We’ve proven it.

Anderson vs Root in Game 1 will be like Skenes vs Lowder in 2023

Root is not in the same planet as Lowder. Root is solid but he has a 3.59 era Vs Lowder who had a 2.00 era.

I dont disagree from an offensive standpoint. Root is a slightly better offensive matchup. But arkansas murders lefties. Thats the part that bothers me….well that and we’ve shown we struggle with lefties like Root and Doyle

Agreed. I would throw Eyanson against Arky

It just sucks that the best two teams and odds on favorites to win it all have to play the first round

Loser will be in a tough spot

Is it a given that we start Anderson against Arky? Seems like we could go with either, also looking at Game2 matchups

I would rather play a team I'm familiar with if we play our best we will win just like we beat them in the series during the year.

Referring to 2023 simply for the pitching duel. Is there a better pitcher we will face in Omaha?

it was going to suck either way getting arky or Tenner game 1, but you win game 1 and you got to feel really good about your path to the championship series.

I hope not, but i feel like that day of rest will heavily influence jays decision

Probably not a better pitcher. I honestly don’t think it’ll be a pitchers duel. He went 6ip 2er against us a month ago but I like to think we’ll make adjustments and it looks like Saturday the wind will be blowing out 10-15mph.

Since they’re on our side of the bracket, it doesn’t matter if we have them game 1 or game 2.

You need to start 2-0 regardless.

Gaekle is the bigger problem. He dominated us

Kade gave up 7 hits, 1 walk, 3 earned runs, and struck out 10 last time we faced this Arkansas team. Two of those hits were solo home runs, though. Eyanson's outing in game two was certainly more impressive

It’s the CWS; there aren’t going to be easy draws and one way or another, #8 for LSU will mean a matchup against Arky in Omaha.

I’d rather face them early than in the finals if we’re fortunate enough to get there again.
