Perhaps the committee placed too much importance on RPI

5 of top 8 seeds gone, another one facing elimination today

Maybe the committee needs to watch games and not just look at RPI

They had zero credibility the minute Vandy was #1 and Arky was seeded ahead of LSU after just losing a series to them.

I think it has more to do with there not being a dominant team in college baseball this season.

I mean shite, we nearly got taken out by arguably the worst team in the field and now, as things stand, we're the second highest seed remaining.

Vanderbilt and Auburn were definitely seeded too high.

I hate arguments consisting of “Muh eye tests!” But damn seems like some was needed this year.

While I agree that RPI was too much of a factor when determining the order of the top 8, I do think the committee did a great job. This has been one of the most evenly matched and entertaining NCAA tourneys in a while. All the regionals were great except for maybe Fayetteville but they ended up with a tough SR

Easy to say that with hindsight.

I don't think this postseason being a bloodbath means the committee did a bad job.

RPI definitely is weighted too much. Auburn getting the 4 seed with 17 sec wins and 1 and done in sec tournament is evidence of that.

Texas was obviously stumbling the last few weeks of the season and still got the 2 seed.

Some of these teams losing aren’t surprising at all if you look at the big picture. The seeding is just lazy.

As much as the RPI can help the SEC it is terribly bias towards the SEC. It overrates SEC teams because of tough schedule. Rewarding tough schedules can be a good thing but it is unintentionally rewarding a entire conference while overlooking other teams that may be more deserving.

What would you have changed? Would you have had Arizona as a national seed? Murray state? West Virginia, Louisville, Miami, UTSA?
What would the eye test have changed?
Texas, North Carolina, auburn, Vanderbilt, would all have still been national seeds.

The flaw in this by many on here is that they think LSU should've been higher because we are still playing and Auburn/Vandy aren't.

What if LSU doesn't come back to win game 7 agains Little Rock last week, so Auburn makes it further than us?

Yeah LSU fans running their mouths only a week after we were nearly part of one of the greatest upsets in history is rich

Makes you wonder how this parity still exist with teams spending millions on rosters.

This years World Series is gonna have some “small timers” in the money spending categories.

Because these power 5 teams aren’t actually spending that much money on baseball

The parity exist because the big colleges are a bunch of one year hired mercenaries vs small to mid major colleges with teams made up of 3 and 4 year players. Sometimes a team can beat a bunch of individuals.

Not surprising at all.
1. MLB draft cutting down to 5 rounds
2. Unlimited transfers
3. Older players want to keep playing and young players want a shot. These players are talented and developed. If older, they have seen lots of pitches.
4. Juco not counting? Don’t know if this is real yet

Bottom line is talented players are sent packing or chooses to leave places like LSU are talented, trained and ready to play.

I been saying that all year. RPI formula is seriously flawed. Regional prove it, Vandy, Auburn, Texas, Georgia , UNC, Clemson. You can go on and on.
