Mad respect for their coach. Real classy dude. Had a lot of praise for Jay and LSU. Talked about trying to slow Evans down.

You could see their batters eying the pitch clock behind home plate after their first time through facing him. They have until 10 seconds to make eye contact with the pitcher. Ironically (or perhaps not), it went away towards the later innings showing the BR Regional graphic.

Yeah, he’s a good one. He’s earned a lot of respect, not only for the way he’s coached, but for how he and his team handled the moment.

To get that kind of turnaround accomplished with the season looking like it was well past over was one hell of a coaching job. They weren’t playing good baseball- they were out of their damn minds. It wouldn’t shock me to see him climb the coaching ladder a rung or two in the future.

Changed to 8 seconds this year.

Like many coaches, he's a former catcher

Feel like Milazzo would be really good at it too

I'm willing to bet Jay has him on the rolodex when he needs another top notch assistant
Theriot and the Little Rock coach were teammates in the minor leagues for awhile

You could tell the coach and the players were really just happy to be in the tournament...something that was completely unexpected just two weeks ago. Yes, they wanted to win. But the coach felt even just showing up and competing with a program like LSU was HUGE for their program. It's the most recognition his program has received in the 11 years he's been there. More than anything, he's hoping this weekend gives him something to sell to potential players to build the program to a higher level.

He may have said it in the press conf., but even though they lost, he sees this weekend as a big win for UALR. That's why is tone is nothing but gratitude

Yep.

Arkansas doesn't have a huge population but they play good high school baseball. Also a ton of money in Little Rock so look for them to sustain their momentum.

That kid can barely speak English. Where the heck did they find him?

Milazzo’s grandfather was a great football coach for middle school aged players back in the day. I think it was the Central Seahawks IIRC.

Certainly a fan of that coach and hope he can build on the success they had in postseason next year and make another run.

He definitely made a name for himself.

With the likely JUCO not affecting eligibility rule giving every player double Covid years, teams like this and LSU-S can assemble 24 yo teams. Experience goes a long way

When Curry gave that dugout interview after the 5-1 lead going to the 3rd, I was surprised to hear him let down his guard and accept accolades, literally gracious regardless of outcome

Nothing he said was wrong, but the timing could not have been worse. But I’m old school about not saying no-hitter or counting outs, and hitting batters sans head when necessary.

He is still the kind of coach you can accept beating your team.

That team deserved to take a Victory Lap around the Box, even though they lost yesterday.

They lost, but . . . actually, they won.

Hats off to you, Little Rock Baseball Trojans. You now have some fans of yours in LSU Tiger Country.

Said they got squeezed during their rough patch.

Should have said the ump sucked on calling one see if the plate versus the other last night in squeezed as well.

What’s Cano’s story? The “host” of the conference said we’d heard Curry’s story re: Cano this week .. I can’t really find anything.

Cano said he ended up there because no one else really wanted him.

Seems like a good, humble young man. Honestly loved his comment on Evans — “he was nasty but I got him back in my last at bat”.
