Probably my favorite documentary since Pepsi Where is my Jet. 4 things stand out to me…

Crazy to me that you could buy cyanide at hardware stores back then although I do barely remember a time of my life when you could get dynamite at hardware stores. So not totally unbelievable.

That James Lewis dude was suspect as hell. All the evidence was circumstantial but damn the dude had a book at his home about how to poison people

Crazy that no third party was really allowed to look at Tylenols manufacturing process and they got caught lying about cyanide not being in their plant.

If this happened today; half the population would be living in fear and never take OTC medicine again and the other half would think it’s a conspiracy.

Started it last night. Looking for good documentaries on streaming.

Just finished Pee Wee on HBO Max and it was great

I worked with a retired detective who worked that case. Was wild talking to him about it.

one side would blame the other while the other side celebrated it as somehow being a good thing.

The murders brought about the use of tamper proof packaging. There are also cameras in all of these stores now.

I watched the first episode yesterday. I was five years old when all of this went down, but I do remember the news talking about how the stores were taking all Tylenol products off the shelves and people talking about it. I liked the first episode. It ended well with that creepy mother fricker. Looking forward to watching the next one tonight.

SPOILERS:

Well, he did it. He also murdered and dismembered his friend and got off on a technicality.

Not sure if true (and haven't watched documentary yet), but I've heard that Johnson & Johnson's response to the press & public distrust is taught in college business schools as an example of expert-level navigation by a company of a public relations nightmare.

Can’t remember his name or title (CEO, COO, President, etc.) but the guy in charge of the debacle was given the presidential medal of freedom for honesty and transparency

I think something happened inside J&J.

I remember this happening when I was a kid. The way my mom over worried about everything, we were screwed if we got sick or hurt that year.

Mom, my head hurts bad.

Drink some Sprite.

What? Can I have an aspirin, nobody died from those?

Nope, they might get those too.

Those blue bottles fired off some memories.

I can't find it but mine was a hybrid of the one you posted and this one. It had a microscope and similar blue bottles. I remember the scalpel because I sliced my thumb pretty good.

I was out of the country when that stuff started kicking off, so I remember it being super weird coming back and hearing it all over the news.

I know that the Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab Kit had radioactive material in it. A science kit for kids.

Was voted the 2nd most dangerous kids toy next to lawn darts
