Unless you buy into the other permutation of conspiracy theory that claims he took a saline shot and didn't actually get the jab

I think most recognized that, at the pace that they were losing any resistance they claim to offer, people would soon be getting the shots and then walking to the back of the line to get the shots again.
After that, nothing left but the IV booster drip.

It's a lot of things. Some people became afraid of them, some get them but don't talk about it because of the controversy, some perceive less risk of COVID now. And yes, the pandemic ended and COVID is becoming endemic if not already there.

HHS ended the emergency phase of pandemic response in 2023 and they looked at things like falling infection rates, morbidity/mortality, population immunity, etc. Whether it's endemic or in some gray area between pandemic and endemic is debateable. It just hasn't been in the world long enough to say what an endemic covid looks like for sure.

You can't have the Covid pandemic and not be playing in make believe land. But there is a reality, and the reality of Covid was that it was a nasty virus for the very old and already very unwell-you know, those that were already at death's doorstep-but for anybody else it was less lethal than the annual flu, and you were an idiot if you treated it differently than that.
