The density is along the Mississippi river valley, then along I-20 eastward to I-95 north to DC.
I would have thought the Chicago area would have been (no pun intended) darker.

Fewer cotton farms relative to other southern states. Also the farms were smaller. They were the last confederate state to secede and the first to rejoin the union.

I am utterly shocked that all those that are fans of the BLM movement dont have any actual constitutes in their metro area.

That's why I posted the map.
I knew that the majority of Black people lived in the Southeast, but I was shocked that it was to that degree.
