The Verdict
If you are someone who voted for Trump and supports his administration’s many compromising decisions, this place is likely for you. If you don’t fall into that category, is the food good enough to look past its rhetoric? The chargrilled burger patties are thick but bland, topped with a waxy cheese that lacks any memorable flavor. The fries are crisp, and the meals affordable, clocking in at around the same price as you can get a burger and fries at another, arguably better, burger joint. However, for those who see Trump’s legacy differently — as a man who has deported innocent people; stoked division; subverted the Constitution; and acted against values that include equality, access, and opportunity — eating here feels like an endorsement of someone whose vitriolic rhetoric has harmed, in many cases irreparably, the people he was elected to serve.
Trump Burger isn’t really about burgers. It’s about broadcasting allegiance to an administration through capitalist, consumerist means: buying a cheeseburger. It’s a chance for Trump supporters to floridly rally behind a figure they admire. But with countless burger spots in Houston that serve far better food, Trump Burger is easy to pass up. Every bite becomes a political statement, that, frankly, leaves a bad taste.

People just look for things to be aggrieved about especially progressives.

Yeah she definitely didn't go in there with any preconceived notions:

Every Trump Burger location tries to outdo itself in nationalist and personality cult aesthetics. Though Houston’s exterior is more subdued and minimalist, the Kemah location features a stage for live music and cocktails. The Bellville location seems most over the top: Images of Trump dominate the space, with life-size posters alongside flags, slogans, and merchandise that blur the line between restaurant decor and propaganda.
As I walked in on a recent Sunday, the tension, likely combined with our nervousness, felt palpable. Here, the vibe wasn’t festive — it was stiff, uncertain, and uncomfortable, particularly for me, a woman of color

What does all of that have to do with hamburgers?

Reviewer is a part of Vox. What kind of review did you expect.

Now do a crawfish boil.
Non-yankee without all the stupid shite please.

Why not just say that it's an overall average burger. If you are going out of your way, you are probably more curious than anything else. Leave it at that.

Good for her for completing the visit without getting into shouting match or a brawl. That couldn't have been easy for her.

Seems like an unbiased review of the food.

Some hard investigative reporting there. Making burgers a political thing is how far reporters in this country have sunken to a level lower than whale shite.

What a miserable, racist, frickstick she sounds like. More reason to repeal the 19th.

A particularly jarring image shows Trump raising his fist, bloodied ear and all, after surviving an alleged assassination attempt in 2024 — an image positioned not far from shelves stocked with Trump-branded mugs, hats, and koozies.

I’ve eaten at the trump burger and her assessment on the burger is about right. It’s pretty much a whataburger. Not the best burger but perfectly fine for lunch. It’s reasonably priced and decent. Will eat there again just simply for the fact that the patrons aren’t miserable people.

I was being sarcastic. I guarantee if it were Obama Burger she would be creaming her pants like it was a Michelin Star joint.

It was actually 2 assassination attempts. I’m putting Trump Burger on my list next time I’m in Houston.

Eater used to have a podcast (they may still have one). I tried listening to it because they had really interesting guests, mostly chefs, and I wanted to hear about their experiences, etc. Unfortunately the two hosts Helen Rosner, and some flamboyantly gay dude, were the most insufferable hosts I can ever remember listening to and I was only able to get through a few episodes. Eater used to be a good resource, but it's riddled with progressive woke bullshite. If you look at their list of best restaurants for any given city, it becomes clear quickly that they go out of their way to find obscure 'hip' cuisine, e.g. Ethiopian food, at the expense of reviewing places people might actually want to eat. I don't mean to suggest Ethiopian food can't be great, but this kind of stuff is always way overrepresented on their 'best of' lists.

Biden Burger: No meat, 100 percent soy, stale buns, cost 25 percent more than last year. French Fries, cold, soggy and greasy. Cooked in soy oil with red dye no2 added to make you think it is ketchup. It doesn’t cut the mustard. But at 2-4 pm free vanilla ice cream.
