Why don't they just dig down and find out for sure. That's what they are eventually going to do anyway.

For like, 20 years.

The myth of Noah's Ark was plagiarized from at least 2 other sources 100s of years before it appeared in any Christian context. The names, Gods, and minor details were altered. Same story.

Of course this statement is 100 percent correct. And he's got more downvotes than upvotes....

Good lord people, I'm still shocked that any rational, thinking person with an IQ over 100 could actually believe that something like this story could have actually happened. In so many ways it's just ludicrous.

You do understand that not every animal on Earth is in one place on the planet to be loaded onto a boat?

I won't even list out the other numerous things that simply cannot happen due to laws of physics, etc.

I wonder how much longer it will take for the majority of humans on this planet to realize that stories from the Bible, Quran, etc. are just that - stories meant to teach lessons, etc. Certainly not to be taken literally....

Sir...sir....everyone knows the planet is flat and that all the continents were connected so getting all the animals in one spot would have been easy.

You mean Jewish context.

You seem irrationally angry while using human realism. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

The laws of physics do not apply to your peanut mind in the house of God.

Are you trying to say there wasn't a global flooding event due to ice melt despite widespread evidence while calling other people dumb?

Ok, if the story of the flood isn't real....what lesson exactly does it teach?

I wonder how long it'll take you to realize that archaeological discoveries are regularly providing evidence that biblical stories are in fact historical events.

What lesson does it teach if it is real?

Then you have the answer.

It's funny how threads like this trigger atheists so much. They can't help but comment

I'm sure you won't believe it, but a quick ChatGPT (who I'm sure you think is run by some crazy liberals) search explains rationally that the Earth was never completely flooded. It's just science, and probably doesn't apply to you.

No — there is no scientific evidence that the Earth was ever completely flooded due to an ice melting event or any other cause.

However, there were massive regional flooding events caused by melting glaciers and rising sea levels, especially at the end of the last Ice Age. Here are a few key facts based on current scientific understanding:

?? Was the Earth Ever Fully Flooded?
No, the Earth has never been entirely underwater — even during the warmest periods in Earth's history.
There's no geologic or fossil record to support a global flood covering all land masses. High-elevation mountain ranges, like the Himalayas, have been above sea level for millions of years.
?? What About Melting Ice Caps and Sea Level Rise?
At the end of the Last Glacial Maximum (~20,000 years ago), global sea levels rose over 400 feet (120 meters) due to the melting of massive ice sheets in North America, Europe, and Asia.
This flooded many coastal regions, submerged land bridges (like the Bering Land Bridge between Asia and North America), and reshaped coastlines worldwide.
The process happened gradually over thousands of years, not suddenly or catastrophically on a global scale.
?? Notable Regional Flood Events
Glacial Lake Missoula Floods (USA): Catastrophic floods in the Pacific Northwest from a melting glacial lake.
Black Sea Flood Hypothesis: Suggests the Black Sea was rapidly flooded around 7,600 years ago when rising Mediterranean waters breached a natural dam. Some believe this may have inspired flood myths like that of Noah.
?? Bottom Line
While science confirms enormous sea-level rise and major regional floods due to melting glaciers, there is no geological support for a global flood that covered the entire Earth — as sometimes depicted in mythology or religious texts.

“For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance, he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries.”
