That's going to represent a significant savings for me when I can get rid of U-Verse.

ESPN sucks as a network

What does this even mean? If i want to watch LSU im gonna have to pay $30 a month? Or is this just a new ESPN?

If you have cable and keep it, this won't affect you.
If you're like me, and don't really want to keep cable, this will allow you to still watch LSU games.
I've been waiting for this and an in market streaming option for the Cardinals.

Anyone else who uses YTTV exclusively for college football thinking of switching to this? Significantly less but no quadbox.
ETA it appears Fox is launching something similar: LINK

The ESPN app on Apple TV has "quadbox" (but you can obviously only watch games airing on the ESPN networks).

It’s become a legitimate pain in the arse to keep up with the streaming services. And now their prices seem to fluctuate much more than cable did.
Not exactly jumping to go back to cable but it’s crazy to see how streaming went from a god send to an annoyance. And the companies still aren’t profitable from what I understand.

You don't get all the other channels, but it's much cheaper and direct access to the Live ESPN Football (the main draw) and other broadcast games.

And this is just their "starting" price. They will go up $5 every other year.

So for things like college baseball games that are typically streamed on SEC Network+, this wouldn’t give you access to that, right?

Fixed it for you lol

Disney’s stand-alone ESPN streaming service will cost $29.99 per month.
When bundled with Disney+ and Hulu’s ad-supported products, the three services will cost $35.99 per month. That price falls to $29.99 per month for the first 12 months for customers who sign up at launch.
The ESPN application will include all of the network’s live games; programming on other ESPN cable networks such as ESPN2 and the SEC Network; ESPN on ABC; fantasy products; new betting tie-ins; studio programming; documentaries; and more.

They did all this talk about ESPN+ and blah blah and make you wait until the last line of the article to tell you what you were looking for.
I have no use for youtubetv if this comes out, especially with turner sports not having the nba anymore.
There is literally zero reason to have a cable subscription outside of live sports, at least for me.
OTA get all the locals, and LSU games are on ESPN's family of networks. I don't really care about FS1/FS2, and I can get Peacock for Premier League games, just need those asshats to include the USA network games on Peacock.
Fox One is supposed to come out as well, which will include FS1/FS2 at a low cost, whatever that means.
You have to imagine Turner Sports is going to do something as well.
Then you'll have to subscribe to ESPN/Peacock/FoxOne/Turner and you'll be paying $70/month.

I agree, and even if a series you're watching is being broadcast "live," it's usually better to wait a few hours for the streaming (VOD) version, because that episode will almost always have better picture quality, better audio, and no commercials.
Plus now a lot of news outlets (even local ones) have a live or semi-live YouTube channel.

I currently have Hulu Live no ads bundled with ESPN and Disney +... I can't stomach another price hike.
