I never watched season 3 of the bear. I waited for some reason that I can’t remember and then twitter never popped off about it the way it did for season 2 so I figured it must have been bad and skipped it.

Should I go back and watch it?

The 3rd season wasn't horrible per se, but it really only inched the story forward. Felt like two episodes of story spread across ten. Probably the time to do it is to binge right before a new season which hopefully moves things forward a bit faster.

Season 1 was great tv.

Season 2 had a couple of good episodes but a lot of average.

Season 3 was basically a waste of time.

Season 3 wasn't terrible or anything, it was just so hollow. Felt so pointless.

S3 had some really good episodes but it was treading water. Still worth watching

The creator of the show was fairly frank. They had plans for 3 seasons. The network essentially forced a 4th season on them so they had to kind of change the plan and it was a bit of a slow down

It was a bunch of well made individual episodes that were boring and were, as you stated, pointless to the series. It was a mess, but a somewhat enjoyable one I guess. 5/10

This is one of the most pretentious and overally dramatic shows on TV.

I started to ask myself - do I really care if this butt-hole succeeds? No really. He just prances around yelling, shaking and smoking cigarettes half the time.

Is the point of the show to care if Carmy succeeds?

Google AI says yes, so to me that means no. It'll probably end up Carmy's struggle and stagnation and eventually working through all of his issues to have ending success, but it would be a better and more realistic journey if he never gets past all of his baggage and fails in the end.

Seasons 1 and 2 were great.

Season 3 was well done, it just didn't fit. There were some good episodes - Napkins was good, but it'll be weird in retrospect if Tina doesn't end up with a bigger role. Ice Chips was actually good television, I just have no idea if it'll have any real impact on the story going forward.

So much of it seemed either out of place or pure filler.

Nonetheless, pumped for Season 4, hopefully it's a little more Forks and a little less Carmy brooding/Sydney looking off into the distance

I love the show.

But at some point they have to make Carmy not just be "i refuse to allow good things into my life. Im angry and sad and deserve no joy"

it cant be that every season.

S3 was fine. It's pretty well known that it was filler season, right?

The creators wanted to do a 3 season story and the studio said 4, so S3 is what they came up with.

Well said.

It's still better than most TV shows out there, even with Season 3 having a bit of a drop off (and well explained if they were extended beyond what they planned to do).

Hoping they go hard for S4 and it really wraps things up all together. This feels like a good sweet spot to go out.

Season 3 just felt like an entire season filled with filler episodes, on down to the finale

The finale of season 3 was a serious let down. This whole build up to him meeting his former mentor and nothing happened. The audience needed something there. Sometimes you’ve got to give the audience what they want.

Same here, I might tune in once the series wraps up but I canceled my Hulu sub after the "What we do in the Shadows" finale.

The Eddie Vedder version of "Save it For Later" montage of Chicago shots was the best part about Season 3

dead serious
