Fantasy Football Opinions On Sheduer Sanders

I haven't played fantasy in years, but some of the things I would look at beyond their talent was existing competition, surrounding weapons and offensive philosophy of the new team.
Reading the scouting reports on him the only real negatives were things that should be easily corrected (holding the ball too long, extending plays to long hoping to make a play). Yes his arm strength is average but his accuracy and processing were elite. They're head coached by a former offensive side coach, the QB competition are old men and nobody's, and they have weapons and drafted a couple of more in RB Quinshon Judkins and TE Harold Fannin Jr.
Despite his major botching of the pre-draft process, I think he's going to be a steal in dynasty leagues.

Well there is currently about half a dozen QBs in front of him on the depth chart, so there's that.

I think he’s absolutely worthless for fantasy purposes. Odds are he never becomes a starter.

He’s not going to see the field as a starter for a long time if ever

As others have pointed out, the fact that he sits 4th on the Browns depth chart probably won’t help his fantasy projections.

He’s irrelevant for fantasy and real football

I'm a betting man at times.
I bet he starts at least 1 game this year for the Browns.

Let some other idiot waste a pick on him

You should be able to get them with your final round pick in any draft with sensible individuals.
I plan a leak that starts two quarterbacks, and I still think somebody won’t take him till like a joke in the final round. We often sometimes do silly stuff in the final round.

He isn’t even a projected backup next year on a mediocre team.
Outside of deep, deep dynasty leagues he has absolutely no fantasy value.

To be fair, they don’t have the best track record on evaluating good starting QBs

His biggest negative is he’s an entitled douche. That’s not easily corrected and doesn’t transition well to the NFL.

Yes his arm strength is average but his accuracy and processing were elite
His arm strength is well below average, he significantly under threw wide open deep receivers often
His accuracy was not elite, he was consistently getting bailed out by Travis Hunter, who had maybe the best ball skills ever seen in a college receiver. That alone probably raised Sanders’ completion percentage by 5-8 percentage points.
And while his route processing was damn strong, his blitz package processing was abysmal. His oline didn’t help, but he would routinely bail out directly into a rusher, possessing very little awareness of where guys would be coming from and how to set up his blockers to minimize the chance someone would break through.
People played up the idea that the NFL was sticking it to Dion letting his kid slide… but the simple truth is, the hype around him has always exceeded his talent. The NFL drafted him where they thought his talent and his leadership warranted he be picked: the 5th round. And 5th round QBs just don’t hit for fantasy. I wouldn’t waste the pick, personally.

"In just throwing the ball? It's not close, Shedeur Sanders."
What else did he say?
"Let me couch that by saying this was rookie minicamp; no pads, no full speed competition, nobody coming to knock your head off."
I'm not a fan. I watched him against BYU and a few other teams this past season and his tendencies didn't really inspire confidence. And I don't think he'll have anyone he can rely on as much as he did Travis Hunter.
