So did CPM and so did Skip. This is nothing new for us for the first game of the regional.

LSU has always liked the day game in regional play as the 1 seed. It gives you more rest time between games.

That’s the bigger meltdown by far for us. As LSU had usually thrown a midweek arm or the third guy vs the 4 seed. Then setting up the ace in the money game and the second guy to go for the championship.
Jay looks like he isn’t going to do that based on we used Skenes vs a really bad Tulane. It’s hard to imagine a worse team than that getting in. I get why he did it though he wanted Skenes on normal rest not short rest for the super.

Not only rest, but assuring yourself to be in the winner's bracket is huge from a pitching staff standpoint. While our like our staff, sunday's can be a crap shoot (like every other team) so having to play a 4th and possibly even 5th game to win can put a massive strain on the staff. This year, if things go to plan by winning the first two with Kade and Eyanson going pretty deep, you have evan's starting the championship game with a ton of other arms available against a team without much pitching left. I'll take that situation 10/10 times

I was told in 2023 by an LSUAD person that TV determines when anyone plays in regionals.

It depends on the 4 seed. I get why he went with Skenes but in the past skip, smoke and Paul threw the 3 or further back guy to beat 4 seeds. It is a gamble though that they don’t have it and you lose

TV determines the start times of Games 1 and 2
Host school decides if they want to play Game 1 or Game 2
