Carr was a good NfL quarterback before coming to the Saints. He was properly paid for what he was. I mean why did he have so much of the fan base upset? He had some injuires which messed up his progress. He had a shitty head coach and an average team assembled around him. People acted like he was Albert Haynesworth.

I agree. He wasn’t the problem, it was Loomis and co who gave him big money

Wish we could let him retire in peace instead of dragging him on Twitter and such

We probably make the playoffs in 2023 if he doesn’t get hurt vs Green Bay.

It doesn’t make sense for Carr to leave the money on the table. Everything he’s said and indicated is that he wouldn’t take any pay cuts, couple that with his inability to shoulder blame and I think something else is at play. I actually believe he injured that shoulder in a non-football manner and he’s saving face, otherwise the Saints were going to fight it.

Let me ask y'all this, when is the first time you ever heard of a shoulder issue with Carr? Heard head injury and broken wrist, Rizzy said he was trying to come back and play at the end of the year...no mention of shoulder....It was when we started doing private workouts with draft eligible QB's, after we rebuffed his raise request, after we extended him. Why extend someone who is hurt? This is what I think...He knew he will never be a fan favorite and He didn't want to be the next Kirk Cousins with the fans calling for a young Pennix to unseat him . He wanted out, couldn't get out and pulled this shoulder thing. Just my thoughts.

MRI showed degenerative change and priorlabral injury. This did not happen when he said it did. He would have gone to arbitration or court. Thats why he gave up, because he would've been raked over the coals publically. Don't kid urself.

Well I don’t hold any animosity towards the man. I wish the Saints would have had more success with him here as I’m sure he does. Overall, I thought he was pretty good when he wasn’t hampered by injuries. I wish him happiness in retirement!

Carr got the hate he deserved honestly. It wasn’t truly his play that was the issue. He was always a qb that needed to be in the right system surround by a lot of talent. The hate from me comes from his demeanor and behavior here. From yelling at players when he himself was screwing up, his attitude about the firing of a coach who was awful here and his teammates hated. He isolated himself from his teammates and this city. Demanding a trade. His play was slightly above mediocre and he wasn’t the main issue here. But, he was a bad leader and this team needed a good one.

Dude spent the first year deflecting blame. He would scream at other players over his mistake, didn't seem all that interested in building chemistry by not being around when other guys were. Constantly putting his wrs in bad spots.

Alot of it has to do with his brothers over the top defense over valid criticism. I absolutely understand them defending him when being attacked for other things.

Now, to his credit he did seem to try and bit more the next year. But overall, he seems very thin skinned and just a bit weird. I get the impression that the thinks most things aren't his fault. I just dont see much accountability with him.

I really dont care what he got paid because no one here would turn down that money. But I just dont like the guy.

Nailed it. He was a decent player (though IMO he's basically QB purgatory), but my real beef with him is everything else. His personality, his approach, etc. All terrible. So glad he's gone.

Yup Loomis was always the problem. He had no business giving Carr that contract. We needed to go super cheap at qb and take our medicine to get out of cap hell. Loomis just put us in deeper.

Carr is a solid mid tier qb that can win if he has a good team around him. Our gm makes the most bone headed draft decisions and draft picks that have the roster at or near the bottom.

Add in a horrible head coach and an OC that was way past him prime and should have never been OC and yiu have a receipe for disaster.

Carr gets the blame b/c he was overpaid and couldn’t carry the team on his back like Brees. Then you have another segment of the fan base still mad Winston got replaced.

I said before we signed him, I would have been ok with him if SP was still the coach. I think he would get the best version of Carr seen. There was no hope with Pete and Allen.

Why didn’t Oschner catch this prior to the extension?

Dude is going out on a high note and about to hit the megachurch circuit and make the real money without taking hits. He's been testing the waters the last few months. I guarantee he's working on the book now and will have it out soon.
