That's all fine and dandy until Ra's al Ghul comes through.

I would go insane if I had to live there.

For $4 k a month, no less, Jesus Effing Christ, you couldn’t pay me to live there.

1300 a month seems like pretty amazing deal to have your own bedroom in metro NYC.
He's in the heart of brooklyn and can get to manhattan in probably less than 10 minutes.
When I first moved back to nola after college I lived in a 2nd story apt on the streetcar line. It was loud as shite for the first few days and then I never really noticed it again for the next 18 months I lived there.

You get used to it quickly. I stayed at a friend's condo just south of Wrigleyville and it was just as close as that to the El. By the third night I didn't even notice it.

Yeah but you can say you live in such and such in New York.
So worth it

The hotel we stayed at in Moscow was right next to the main subway hub. Went 3 times in a year for 7-10 days each time and never got used to that sound. I don’t enjoy that many people surrounding me anyway.

It's an OK deal since it's a new building with new appliances, bathroom etc. . . But, it's still possible to get a 2BR in an older building in those blocks for around $2000, especially if it's facing the JMZ train.
Really great area to live if you're young and into bars and restaurants since many of the trendiest places in the city are walking distance.
Not the most pleasant few blocks of Bushwick though right around the Myrtle Ave stop.

I sleep like a rock, and there are always earplugs. This is a no-brainer.

4th floor walk-up is a bigger deal to me than the subway noise.

Same experience. Years ago, my wife and I stayed for a week with my BIL, who was fresh out of college and working in downtown Chicago. His apartment was right next to the L. The first night I couldn't get to sleep, but by night 3, I had no issues. I have always wondered if you did a sleep study on someone, even if they had lived there a year or more, if it lowers the quality of sleep. I suppose it makes less of an impact on the 20-somethings that usually live in them than someone much older.

Reminds me of Elwood's apartment in The Blues Brothers.

Is this news? There's places like that all along the red line in Chicago.

There are a couple apartments/condos like this on I-45 around downtown Houston
