Anyone have any other sources on this?
Looks like he wants to move it to states and have certain stipulations.
This would be awesome.

It's almost as if he's telling certain Americans to "grow the frick up and pay your bills with money from a real job."

I imagine a lot of those big apartment complexes will have a ton of openings…

Rent may actually go down from this

Let’s do this but put a homeownership program in its place where you encourage people to own something rather than rent for their entire lives.

You move the needle from corporations and landlords making money to now homes being owned by residents.

Which will solve the problem Section 8 was intended to fix in the first place.

That's going to take a huge bite out of the divorce rate.

This could help solve the "affordable housing crisis" that lefties like Bernie Sanders complain about without understanding that programs like Section 8 are what is causing it.

I know "developers" that rape and pillage the system because it is wrought with fraud.

Only downside is they have to renovate the house between each rentals because they wreck shite.

This would be a good thing. Section 8 is just welfare for landlords.
Rent is artificially high because of section 8.

I do think it should be harder to own multiple SF homes. There should be some sort of larger tax on 2nd/3rd/4th homes.

How can individuals living on welfare, disability, SNAP, free lunch programs, WIC, and every other freebee the US government hands out going to be able to pay a mortgage + upkeep on a house?

How about no stipulations AND no money.

The only thing worse than the status quo is “free” federal $$ in the hands of State and City politicians.

If you're eligible for Section 8, you can't afford even a crappy house today. The states would have to do something to prevent homelessness from skyrocketing.

Man, the folks in construction that have tapped into this market and know how to play it make absolute bank.

An old mentor of mine used to say "build a company that only bills insurance and the government and you'll retire rich"

Well, how do you get a person that's landed on Section 8 to be responsible enough to secure a job that allows them to save for a down payment and manage their credit well enough to purchase a home?

I get the whole idea of encouraging home ownership, because people who own property have a vested interest in the value of their homes and communities, but you'd have to overhaul the person altogether (and their mentality) before getting them prepared for home ownership.
