Right before the Lewisburg exit. I don’t have Facebook or pics but we saw two creeping together in the high grass. I thought they were small black bears at first. Never seen a panther much less two of them at once. Tails were thiccckkkkkk.

I wouldn't doubt it. I know they are around and that area is close to some thick woods. But black ones? The only panthers I am aware of in the area are mountain lions.

Not one but two black panthers at the same time. Must be some good shite you’re smoking.

Bigfoot and black panthers are immune to good photography.

And that's a nice looking black lab.

That’s exactly what it was. My buddy lost his dog years back, that pic got sent in the group text. Remembered it was in my Imgur account from the last black panther thread I partook in, figured it was the right time.

Here is a video of what appears to be a mountain lion not far from there (Hernando) about 7 years ago:

We used to have a Mississippi Wildfire and Fisheries Commissioner in our camp who is a lifelong friend of mine.

We hosted a bunch of MWF guys one night many years ago and after a good steak dinner and few drinks this topic came up during small talk around the fire pit. Everyone of them had ether had seen a black panther or knew someone they really trusted that had and they all agreed that they almost certainly existed in Mississippi for what’s it’s worth.

Commissioners are good ol’ boy rich guy political appointees. They are not biologists. Exhibit A: Outdoor Life

The problem is there has never been a black cougar born in a zoo or captive setting (and there are thousands there), killed and brought in by a hunter or observed by a biologist.

To me, people who claim to have seen a black panther are like the people you see today riding around in their cars alone wearing covid masks. Just someone to make me feel better about myself and who brighten my day.
