They do. That's why a lot of MLB catchers eventually change positions.

They absolutely do, and generally the slowest players in MLB due to said knee issues

Back in the 1970s, I had a supervisor who was a former pro baseball catcher who played for the old St. Louis Browns in the 1940s. He told me that he was dealing with arthritis in his shoulder from all of the throwing he did. He also said that many other catchers that he knew also had shoulder pain from all the throwing.

Jake Taylor had to retire and become a coach because of the trouble his knees gave him after years of catching.

I caught through college, zero knee issues. Hip flexors are always in pain and sleep can be hard. Should have played golf.
