If you sift through the insanity, there is a decent generalized point to be made there with regard to small town living. No doubt, however, hers is all but completely clouded by the current zeitgeist of what is meant by the term “diversity.”

I live in a small town and these types get hired by the Chamber of Commerce or to be County Admins and then want to complain about how none of the folk who've been here want things to change "for the better."

The absurdity is it's not like anyone is preventing people from differing backgrounds to go there. They choose not to for whatever their reasons are. She needs to respect their choice not to live there. Maybe the cost of living is low there because there aren't a lot of good paying jobs (that's the most likely reason)
