Aren't statues meant for those who set the bar high (pun intended) while at LSU? He was here for one year and achieved remarkable success after LSU

A plaque in Bernie Moore Stadium would be sufficient.

exactly...if you want to do it for a pole vaulter then do Russ Buller, he was the most successful while at LSU. 2 time NC, 7 time all american and 6 sec championships.

Whenever he decides to stop stabbing louisiana, lsu, and america in the back maybe? Cant believe someone of his calibor and from his family would be a trater but he decided to shock us all. Sad really!

Technically I don't think Mondo is eligible.
1. You have to have a degree from LSU (which I don't believe Mondo has yet. FYI, Graduate degrees such as Burrow's count) or "by some other regionally accredited institution of higher learning."
2. You must have achieved the highest individual honor in your sport (Mondo's case the Bowerman which he was a finalist, but not the winner.)
3. You have to have completed intercollegiate competition for at least 10 years, meaning Mondo doesn't meet this requirement until 2029.

Don't know about an LSU statue but he was named the 2025 World Sportsman of the Year.
He's officially on the same level as Usain Bolt, Djokovic, Federer, Nadal, Messi, and Tiger.
