There was never a COVID shot mandate

My baw says this.
He was conservative, but believes there should be no punishment for those who mandated shots.
I didn't take the shot.
Didn't need it.
But, I understand many people did in order to keep job.
I understand, and feel terrible for them.
Is there any logic claiming there was no mandate?

I was told I would get kicked out of the army if I didn't get it, so I got it. Is that not a mandate?

I was told I could not get a life saving transplant surgery without getting the shot, even though I had gotten covid and recovered just 4 months prior.
No shot? No transplant. Does that count as a mandate?

federal employees were mandated to get it or lose their jobs.
eta: i should note that this also got indirectly passed down to any contractors doing work for the federal government. take the shot or risk losing business/contracts.

My company was gathering data.
They asked:
Did you get the shot?
Will you get the shot ?
Will you not get the shot?
About two weeks before the SCOTUS decision.
Hmmmmmm…wonder why?
My direct supervisor, who I was also friends with away from work, got the shot and put that shite in his very young children and wife.
He said I was throwing away my career.
Why would he say that?
They asked:

Will you not get the shot?

For many there WAS a mandate. Hundreds of THOUSANDS of medical professionals had to choose between their jobs and vax poison. Federal employees and contractors. In some states many other employers mandated.

Had a relative that was told she could get the shot or not work there anymore. She chose not to work there anymore. That's a mandate.

So was mine. But they asked:
Are you vaccinated? Yes or no. If yes, upload your vax card.
Or
I decline to answer.
If you answered no or declined you were required to wear your mask. I complained that they were visually separating the team to make it easy to identify who got the shot, and creating a list of who to terminate.

My Company didn’t mandate the shot, but they said without it you couldn’t come to the office or travel anywhere on behalf of the Company.
Shortly after all of those individuals were laid off and told it was because they could no longer perform necessary job duties (i.e. travel to clients to conduct business)
