Oh no Roger! Slow Mo....

Sucks to be wrong so much!

quote:

Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser has emphasized that the newly announced tariffs were not factored into the console’s U.S. price, as the decision had been made prior to the administration’s announcement. Instead, he attributed the higher price tag to the Switch 2’s enhanced features and technological upgrades.

The Switch 2 boasts a larger LCD screen with variable refresh rate capabilities, a custom-built CPU/GPU from Nvidia, and increased internal storage. Nvidia confirmed that the Switch 2 will deliver 10 times the graphics performance of the original model, with support for advanced features like DLSS and ray tracing. Other improvements include larger, more durable Joy-Con controllers and hardware integration for the new GameChat communication option.

If they could have gotten away with charging more for the same technology they would have been already doing so.

The TD Tariff Melters will always have that tweet from Nintendo saying they were considering the effects of tariffs.

$450 is a bit much.

Most have said all along that overseas production is low enough that it’s still profitable to produce overseas. I thought his was bout creating new jobs here?

They make money on games, not consoles.

Agreed.

That’s more than a Xbox X, PlayStation 5, and $250 more than a PlayStation 5 portal. Portal may not be as easy to use, but has a more and better games.

I had to look him up, thinking that someone who worked on the games and character development team named the villain after their boss as a joke, but Doug Bowser wasn't hired at Nintendo until 2015. Talk about a coincidence of all coincidences.

It was $300 almost 10 years ago... With the advances in technology, and inflation over the last few years, it's not that bad of an increase.

Nintendo will always be known as supreme moneygrubbers.. even switch games almost a decade old, they still selling for 60 dollars. Switch 2 basically has the power of an xbox one and a ps4. ..so it was guaranteed that Nintendo is going to suck people dry. Switch 2 games will frickin cost more than ps5 and xbox series s/x games. Sony and Microsoft will probably follow along and start upping their new game prices to match Nintendo. So 80 or 90 dollars per game.
