Tank for Arch - worst idea ever

I see alot of garbage saying the above on here.
Just an FYI, even if Arch were predicted to be the first pick of the draft in 2026 there’s no guarantee he would declare.
He could be in the 2027 draft for all we know.
LINK
Quin ewers allegedly turned down an 8 million dollar NIL deal to go pro.
Arch is already valued at 6.5 million NIL money for next year, and if he were to play a couple years of college ball he’ll make over 13 - 20 million for 2 years easily.
Caleb Williams’ contract as the first pick is basically 39 million over 4, etc. meaning Arch will basically make the same per year while in college as if he was the first pick of the draft.
We dont even know if Arch (1) will be in the 2026 draft and (2) we def have no idea if we will be drafting in his draft range.
Basically, saying tank for Arch is just flat out dumb.
Enough already.

I’m old enough to remember Tank for Tua. That didn’t work out so great.

Tanking is stupid regardless.

That’s what we did in 1970 and look where it got us.

Loomis will never do that
He says we have a playoff team this year
But he also said that the last two years too

Many Vegas oddsmakers has the Saints with the 3rd best odds to have the #1 pick next year. It’s not like “Tank for Arch” is a far fetched idea.
Our roster is so old and the depth is thin. We will realistically get injuries to our key most talented players because they are old/injury prone and will be stuck starting guys off the street.

He may make the same but he delays the 2nd contract in the nfl by a year which is a lot of money these days, QBs getting 50+ per year.

Tank for Arch. It is destiny.

Tanking fascinates fans who dream of quick fixes. But the strategy has a spotty track record… at best.

The faster you go pro. The faster you earn 2nd contract money. Second contract money is potentially 50mil+ vs 8mil.
If he plays well to be a top 10 pick, he leaves for the draft. End of story.

Colts got Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. I wouldn't say it's stupid.

How else you gonna get a stud QB? They don’t hit free agency and you can’t trade for them

It’s also a coping mechanism for fans, and front offices, that can’t admit that tanking requires a team to try to fail and there team may actually be too bad to tank.

Arch Manning to the Saints would be the biggest thing to happen to New Orleans sports since we landed the Hornets. Possibly bigger if he became a franchise QB.

Teams may tank the last game...maybe the last two. That's about it. Teams don't tank a season. And Arch needs to play at least one season before declared a target lol

NIL money figures being thrown around is absolutely insane.
