Without looking it up, can anyone name the last US Pres. to have any type of facial hair?

While in office?

Random thought, but it came about while visiting my kid’s civics class on Friday, where they have every President’s official portrait on the wall.

I was thinking Grant or Lincoln, but too long ago. I'll say Taft,

5th cousin, once removed. I looked it up.

Neice of Teddy.

I will go a step further, who was our last bald POTUS?

I will go even further, how many elected POTUS that did not attend / accepted to

An Ivy League school
A Service Academy
An elite private school (think Stanford, Vanderbilt type schools)

Basically a POTUS who just attended a state college or university

The only time it was common for presidents to have facial hair was the later half of the 19th century and into the early 20th century. William Howard Taft, the 27th President, was the last with facial hair. The first to have facial hair was actually the 8th President, Martin Van Buren who had long sideburns. Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President was the first to grow a full beard. The last with an actual beard was the 23rd President Benjamin Harrison.

I know Teddy Roosevelt wore one of those hipster mustaches for a while. Not sure if anyone after him did. I think by the 20's the clean shaven look came back in fashion.
