Have we ever had a commuter school win a basketball title?

Houston has a chance to be one of the first. Those crowd shots are pretty cringe. Looks like an inner city community college crowd.

Back in the late 80's/early 90's, UNLV was probably the closest thing to a commuter school that won a title.

They can join UCF's 2017 national title in football.

Wouldn't the "commuter school" in AZ be the Sun Devils?

Most of Houston’s students are from Houston. It’s the definition of a commuter school

Schools that have won natties in basketball off the top of my head
Loyola Chicago
San Fran
Cincinnati
Marquette
Holy cross
Wyoming
UNLV
CCNY
Let’s not act like a school with a bigger enrollment that most SEC schools is some big shocker especially with Tillman fertita funding its athletic department.

Memphis and Louisville are the most “non commuter of commuter schools”, but that’s how they are viewed

Small Catholic liberal arts schools =\= commuter school. Quite the opposite
UNLV definitely fits the mold though
