Could be weather related yet Coach Jay Johnson apparently hasn’t released his expected pitching rotation for tonight through Saturday.

Could be that Cowan breaks into the fold? We’ll see.

Weather related if at all.

They'll be lucky to get 2 games in

Why do y’all want to take one of only two dependable bullpen arms out of the bullpen?

Jack Daniel, I’m not taking away anything. If LSU rotates Cowan into starting role then Shores would be a great bullpen option. No takeaway in that equation.

Shores is coming along. It was always gonna take some time with him post surgery (see Gage Jump). I'm fine with the status quo.

Sunday starters are a luxury in this league. Dont need to move heaven and earth to secure one at the detriment of Friday nights.

Right now they’re only getting Cowan into one game per series.

So the general thought is getting 6 good innings is better than 3 great innings.

However, I don’t think you can make this move until you have Guidry back.

I do think Shores is a better 1-2 inning arm right now than starter. He was starting to thrive in that role as a freshman before getting injured.

kinda need someone to come in and throw strikes usually in a BP situation. Shores hasn't shown that yet. Here's to hoping he starts doing that soon.

I'd agree with you if this were May or June but what people are missing is that we're 7-2 with the current rotation. As long as we keep winning there's no reason to change. We already know Cowan can start, but Shores still has something to prove prior to the postseason. As long as we're on track for a top 8 seed there's no reason to not keep trying to get Shores to reach his ceiling. The goal is winning the CWS not winning the regular season

The only pitching change you will see was made onvious by who started the midweek game. That told us something whether most can connect the dots or not.

Noot will be pitching sometime this weekend with long relief in mind , most likely on Sunday or Saturday if we have a nice lead.

I think noot basically changed spots with Schmitt . Basically he's where Schmitt was when they first moved him to weekends

I've been saying the same things. Until Guidry gets right, I don't see any changes to the starting rotation. Having a couple of trustworthy relievers is priceless.

I don’t think you want to change the starting rotation at the juncture.

Any given weekend the goal is to win 2 of 3. I think you pull out all the stops to win the first 2, and piece together game 3.

In a weather affected series like this weekend. You might only get 2 games, which makes it an easier decision- stick to the current rotation, and get those 1st 2 wins.

I think Shores, coming off TJ, probably has a very specific warm up routine that takes some time. He's probably a much worse bullpen option than he is a starter.

Just my opinion but I think Cowan is more effective coming in after Anderson because of the difference in what you see from each. Anderson throwing mid 90s left side with the offspeed he has then going to Cowan 90-92 with the nasty changeup and capable of throwing a 3rd pitch for strikes also. I just think that makes Cowan that much better to have the hitters see something completely different from the first 5-7 innings. Especially on game 1s when the score will likely be close.
