Cowan behind shores would be pretty nice too when comparing styles

Why do y’all want to take one of only two dependable bullpen arms out of the bullpen?

I think you have to go all in on 2/4 games because that wins the series, but I also think as some point it’s worth wondering who would be our 2 best starters.

in SEC play out starters have pitches 41.1 innings and given up 31 runs

Our BP has pitched 37.2 innings and given up 19 with the majority of that work going to Cowan and Evans.

it’s mostly a moot point because Game 1/2 will be some combination of Anderson, Eyanson, Evans and Cowan unless the bats are lighting people up

Shores and Eyanson are at the point where they need to avoid the blowup inning.

Shores was just having bad outing before.

I think Shores, coming off TJ, probably has a very specific warm up routine that takes some time. He's probably a much worse bullpen option than he is a starter.

This is true, Casan Evans mentioned on Mahtook’s show that Shores has a long warmup routine.
I’m not crazy about the idea of Shores coming in to pitch a tight game with runners on base.

More likely than not it involves Shores who was hit in the face with the ball. Plus it will be difficult to get 9 continuous innings in on any day this weekend.

If they play a DH 7 inning game then you might see Cowan start

Starting pitchers are viewed like QBs. If they aren't spectacular, people want to find a replacement. I do not share this view.

They only play 7 inning DHs on Sunday. Another other day are 9 inning affairs

Maybe when Gavin Guidry gets healthy he can be another Late Reliever/ Closer for us. Kind of like Cowan and Evans are for us.

He was fine as a freshmen. I think it’s a different situations when you’re a starterZ

It’s less needing 2 hours and more having those 2 hours start and stop a few times.
