Did Trump save the Canadian left from defeate

A good look at how Trump may have saved the left from certain defeat in the Canadian election. Instead of having an ally in Canada it looks like he has made it very likely that he'll have a guy who will keep the left in power. Trumps timing is off, I've said this before. He is doing too much too quickly and it's starting to show.
Before you say, "who cares" this reality will be one where Trump now has an enemy instead of friend.

Labour has been running Canada into the ground hard the past decade. If Canada is stupid enough to elect them again solely to try to stick it to Trump they are hopelessly retarded.

This is exactly the plan. Leftism has destroyed Canada and that’s what we need to then acquire them or at least west and north Canada. If the right gets it they will fix problems and make it harder to work out a deal. Leftists are always in it for themselves which makes it straightforward and easy for Trump to negotiate. Not to mention they are just cold California. They need to fall to be built up

Trump can't help himself. He could have issued a firm warning to Canadians that their current leadership was going to hurt relations and things of that nature, and implored Canadians to embrace freedom. Instead he pissed on them and acted like he was going to annex them. Surprise, they dug in their heels, like everyone on the planet does when you talk that way about their country. Now Canada has Trudeau 2.0 and it will probably get worse over there.

Others think he's not doing enough.

Conservatives more familiar with Canadian politics than I are not sold on Pierre. Maybe Trump sees he's not really who people think he is too. Pierre didn't work too hard to distinguish himself from the liberals. He pretty much echoed their sentiment and got pissy about having reciprocal tariffs.
But it's not my concern if Canada shoots themselves in the foot by electing NWO authoritarians. Why would I want to ally with people like that? I want to ally with people who don't believe in a one-world government tyranny.

Agreed. A weak Canada is more vulnerable to seizure. The Canadians new hubris is hilarious too.

No.

Instead of having an ally in Canada

I thank God for Donald Trump.
But, like all of us, President Trump has some flaws. His pride won't let him admit to errors. Also, he seems to take everything personally.
I think this all stems from his jokes about Trudeau being governor of the 51st state. Rather than admit that, he's killed any chance of Canada having good government.
More importantly, President Trump has put many of you on this board in the position of pretending there is a chance of us absorbing any portion of Canada. If you believe that, I have a safe and effective Covid vaccine to sell you.
Personally, as a Trump supporter, I find it much easier to just say "that's Trump being Trump" when he makes things up on the spot.

It’s not our fault if Canada is retarded enough to elect the people who have ruined their country, again. Go cry somewhere else.

We are not getting any part of Canada, and this was not the plan. This is the negative you get with Donald Trump, and you just have to accept this collateral damage in order to get the rest of the bomb throwing that hits the targets.

No, but in this case it is Trump’s fault. Without Trump’s idiotic posture toward Canada we get a conservative government, aligned with MAGA.

Well-stated. It doesn't help any of us to pretend that Trump is being serious about acquiring Greenland, Canada, or the Panama Canal. Let those Trumpisms die like "Mexico will pay for the wall" or "I will end the Ukraine war even before I'm elected."

That was never happening. Canadian conservatives are further left than our Dems.

Exactly. I love the new talking points. Trump is winning but now the world doesn’t like us and we don’t have allies. Therefore, Trump should stop winning.
It’s silly. Some people will always be useful idiots. (Enter Penrod)

Yes, but by saving them now he has killed them in the long run. They now will take the full blame for the miserable decade Canada is about to experience.

Trump negotiated a wonderful trade deal with Canada in 2018, he said so himself. Let’s just honor the agreement and stay out of their politics. They’ve been a close ally that we’ve shared intelligence with for decades, we don’t need to be the shite stirring bitch of the world. Our rhetoric toward Canada is plain stupid, arrogant, and not at all necessary

Maybe, but wouldn't the Conservative Party have been more aligned than the Labour Party that Trump is helping to elect?

So should we just allow them to tariff the hell out of us with no response?
