Well I hope so….

The NCAA portal opened today, it’s 9am and we have 3 players gone already.

All these SEC teams having success in the tournament sickens me.

I’m tried of this product we are putting on the court. Embarrassment to the program.

The question I have is, why are we bringing MM back in the first place? It makes ZERO sense…

There’s no logical reason to bring MM back. Our admin just doesn’t give a rip about basketball.

Tyrell ward and Mike Williams.

Two guys who were decently sought after as high schoolers AND successful once here.

Why invest in a dead end program?

The money should go to football.

Realistically, we will need to spend between $8-10M in NIL on basketball to put a competitive roster together. That's where the Auburn's, the Florida's, the Alabama's are in money.

I just don't see us getting to even half that, so yeah, we are going to suck, especially with a below average coach.

I’ve seen where Ward and Chest are in the portal but I have not seen where Williams has entered, yet.

Not sure why anyone would give LSU any money for basketball NIL right now. Having talented players is great and all, but they still have to be coached.

The number for the competition will be broadcast as $35-$50mil by November.

Why are people melting about players transferring from a bad team?

That's what you want to happen if you are going to transform the roster and spend a bunch of money.

These are the better players from the team—the guys you’d like to keep around.

No one’s really melting at the guys leaving (granted Chest is a guy you would have liked to keep) it’s more the state of the program.

Mcmen are stupid. Chest is a good player.

The ONLY logical reason I can see for doing so is that LSU doesn't have the money to pay the buyout this year. McMahon has done nothing on the court whatsoever to suggest that even with "better" players he will be able to have success. Before the season this board was claiming this was McMahon's "most talented roster". Then, as they loses piled up, suddenly, for the third year in a row, the narrative changed to "these players suck"...once again ignoring the lone common dominator over the course of the three seasons. Have the nearly 30 (scholarship level) players that have been on the roster over the last 3 years all terrible and McMahon just got "unlucky"? Or is the one constant the problem? There is simply no justification for going forward in year 4 with McMahon when the rest of the league has already passed and lapped his program.

Of course, keeping him for this season only reduces the buyout by ~$2M if LSU fires him after next season. That calls into question the "increased NIL" BS. If you have the money to increase the NIL funding then, presumably, you have the extra ~$2M you would have to spend by making a change now.

It's hard to argue otherwise as it appears they are just whistling past the graveyard.

Besides not wanting to spend an extra $10M in 2025 for basketball?

But they’re gonna spend it on NIL so they do have it.
