This is going to be a very calm thread

I can interpret it but that is a terrible graph.

50% Baby Boomers helped one another before Gen X.
50% Gen X altogether stopped trying.

Failure, with a side helping of jealousy, is no way to go through life.

Must be nice to have it so easy.

So roughly a 4% less ownership of national wealth between Boomers and Gen X when comparing age?
Doesn’t seem that great. If you adjust for life expectancy differences between Greatest and Boomers, it’s probably pretty even.

I very well could be wrong, but I imagine that if you plotted, all the way back to Greatest Gen and beyond, a single statistic: percentage of the cohort who owns more than one single family residence and has at least one of those extras for rent/lease, Boomers would blow by every other cohort by a staggering degree.
Boomers spent their entire lives at the fulcrum of an explosion of the value of "desirable" land and were able to ride that into a wave of passive income. It will be extremely interesting to see what that starts to look like as Boomers start to pass in larger and larger numbers. Though I imagine "interesting" will become "tragic" if large institutional investors step in.

If only these young whippersnapper's would pull themselves up by their bootstraps like we did back in the day, they could have what we have.

Hopefully the boomers die soon so they can pass that money on. Most entitled generation that claims to have nothing has the most….shocked.

Boomers should not have to apologize for their wealth. It’s not their problem they worked their asses off and earned what they have while the younger generations are lazy and want handouts.

Is jealousy and whining about boomer’s the only thing you ever post about?
Posted on 3/22/25 at 1:11 pm to RaoulDuke504
But I ws told that Boomers didn't save money?

Why did they cut off a decade of millennials?

Sharp people, with a great work ethic, always win.
No matter the generation, no matter the "economy", we win.
Lazy people look for excuses, and look for someone or something to blame.
That's exactly what the OP is doing instead of looking in the mirror.

The graph is charting "median cohort age". So when Millennials are plotted at "30", that means that at that point in time, half of Millennials are younger than 30 and half are older. Same with every other cohort. It's the best way to simultaneously compare trends over time while also creating an apples to apples comparison between cohorts.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a inheritance. They're largely spending it all in retirement.
