Rodney Terry, whose Elite Eight run in 2023 as Texas' interim basketball coach helped him earn a five-year contract to run the program in the wake of Chris Beard's shocking dismissal, will be let go with three years remaining on a deal that pays him $3 million annually, a source close to the situation told Horns247.

What the hell is Scott doing? We win two SEC games and keep our coach?

Woodward self-imposed the death penalty on LSU MBB. It is what it is. I’ve come to terms with it.

Haven’t you heard? NIL budget will be increased so instead of winning 3 conference games we may actually win 4 games and with a lil luck might win 5.

To be fair, we won three SEC games.

It’s sickening. Our administration clearly doesn’t care about men’s basketball. I guess it makes financial sense to keep him but whatever money they make surely won’t be from ticket sales. I think you’d be hard pressed to find 100 people who have any excitement about the program right now.

And being a lame duck coach will do wonders for recruiting I’m sure. But it’ll be fine. I’m sure big money is lined up to invest in McMahon via NIL. just sucks it took our administration 3 years to notice our NIL budget for basketball was lacking.

What a bunch of bs lol.

Can we get a new thread every time a coach somewhere else is fired and then talk about how Woodward should fire McMahon. These topics haven't been beaten to death, so let's keep this going

The melter’s motto. If more NIL money doesn’t work, a change will be made. We either start winning or we keep losing and MM is fired next year. Not much more you can say until then without beating a dead horse into the dirt.

Every topic has been beaten to death in some regard.

The NCAAT kicks off today so all of this is fresh. It’ll be over in a few weeks. I doubt you’ll hear more than a peep then. Heck, the last few years there would be maybe one or two MBB threads during the entire summer. And it’s usually just the normal fans talking roster.

The fact that people haven't come to terms with it is.... insane. Yes, the program sucks but the time people waste complaining about something that they can't affect is unreal.

I wonder if their fans are in shambles hoping for the return of their former coach Chris Beard

Of course they aren’t because they realize there’s other fish in the sea. What’s worse, is that I’ve seen a number of posters saying that Wade is the best coach LSU has ever had. Really? Do y’all even remember Dale Brown making multiple final four’s or John Brady going to the final four? Wade going to the round of 32 or his team without him on the sidelines in the sweet 16 elevates him to the top?

Clearly, it isn’t beaten enough for a change. That’s the problem. Everyone else is serious about winning, and we aren’t. Until we fire the coach, it’s reasonable to complain.

The NCAA can't wreck your program if there's nothing left of it.

You really believe this bs? It took 3 years to notice the nil issue huh?

Lmao. Ok man. Yea we all know if he shits the bed yet again he will probably be gone. The reason we are “melting” is bc the reasoning we were given is obviously bs. Some of us aren’t thrilled with another season of 3 conference wins.

I do believe MBB will have more NIL funds next year. Do I think that will help? Not really & he is gone if not.

I also believe we had 0 interest in spending >$10M in a buyout + hiring new coach.
