I know I know... all the immaturity and fan trauma but god damn he is fun to watch.

You have him locked up in what will be his athletic prime. Draft another stud whether it br Dylan, VJ or Ace(somehow I have a feeling it will be Ace) and go after a free agent big and lets go.

I want the Z/Trey/___ era to begin.

Gotta get them more quality role guys like Olynyk and actual shooters that can consistently hit open shots. (I'm looking at you Hawkins!)

Let's go where, the play in... if we're lucky?

Nah I believe Trey can be a 2nd or 3rd guy on a championship team. He also compliments Z extremely well.

I kinda love the idea of Z kicking it out to two 6'-10" athletes that can shoot in Trey and Ace.

We just need to be healthy. Murray as the third option and CJ as the fourth is great. Messi has been improving also. The bench needs an overhaul though.

This thread is weird

We are talking about a 19 win basketball team glowingly in year 6 of a rebuild

Yeah dude because they wouldn't be a 19 win club healthy.

Zion and Trey have taken steps. If Zion becomes a top 10 guy you can make some noise next year.

How much depends on who they pick but lets not pretend this team would have been that much worse than last years team if healthy.

Zion is so good that when I looked at the box score and saw 29 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals, I said eh I’ve seen him do more. When he’s healthy like this, he’s just unstoppable. And the man doesn’t even have a jumpshot.

If healthy was been said for 6 years. And I highly suspect if healthy will be described about next year's team as well.

At some point you need to realize this is what they are. It's crazy to me that you can be fooled in a few game stretches considering the much larger sample size.

Team needs a real coach first. Not a dude who always has that "is that a fart I smell" look on his face.

Zion is one of the most frustrating players in pro sports history, so I completely understand anyone on this forum that wants to get rid of him. But I'd rather keep him and hope for the best than trade him and become one of those consistent Grizzlies/Blazers type playoff teams that have no chance at winning a title.

It depends on where we end up in the lottery and what Z's value is in the market.

If, for example, we land Cooper Flagg and could trade Zion for another top-5 pick (in addition to other assets), I think you have to look at it.

If we don't land the top spot and/or the offers for Z are thin, then you play out the hand.

I love what I've seen from Zion since he got back this year, but it also may represent our last sell high opportunity on him and I'm still not sure I believe he can play a full season + 3-4 tough rounds in the post season without getting hurt. If he can't then we are just spinning our wheels with him...

You dont trade the guy who made Ant look normal in any scenario.

Or you could just play them together.

I want to see how Zion reacts to new leadership (GM, coach, new front office). I'm all for 2nd chances and fresh starts. But he has to embrace a new direction and be committed to a new style. The flashes we have seen over the past month, with him playing the wing almost exclusively have been what most of us have been clamoring for for years.

It still won't happen overnight. If we keep him, we still need to do a massive overhaul on the remainder of the roster. I'm not sure anybody else is safe. But this is why Zion has to play the rest of the year out. You see how excited we all get. We need momentum going into the offseason.

This is the crazy part. He's not a threat outside of 5' to shoot the ball and can still dominate a game at this level when the opponent knows he's just going to get to the rim, elevate and finish. His touch at the rim is incredible. He also dosent get the foul calls he probably deserves.

I think I've finally figured out the "problem" we...as fans...have with Zion. Amazingly, at least to me, MANY of our fans truly believe that, when healthy, Zion is actually one of the top 5 ...or top 10 or even top 15 players...in the NBA.

I must admit...I didn't really believe we had more than a few folks...who actually had Zion rated that highly. I sit corrected.

For the future of the Pelicans...I hope...and assume...that the Pelicans are currently just playing Zion to try and (possibly) build up his trade value and will trade him, as soon as they can get anywhere close to a decent deal. Seventy cents on the dollar, whatever that means, would be fantastic. I don't think this will work...but it's worth a try.

Anywho...hope springs eternal...so now...let's just concentrate on holding on to those 125 "combos"...on those wild and crazy ping pong balls.
