So all I need to do to afford a $750,000 house

Is to cancel my Netflix subscription and stop buying lattes and avocado toast?
Then I will be able to afford a house?
But what if I don't subscribe to Netflix, don't drink coffee, or eat avocado toast?
Also can you point me in the direction of those $500 beater cars that are always being talked about while you're at it?

Old people don't understand the struggle.

Or you can make more money instead of crying

Someone posted inflation adjusted numbers, and you're in the same boat my age group was in when we graduated college in the late 80s/early 90s.. We were a couple of percentage points worse IRRC when looking at mortgage payment as a percentage of salary.
The market isn't static, it will change, and a $750k home typically ain't your first house.

If you want finance help, list your diet and subscriptions you have and we can point you in the right direction.

I just sold one in perfect condition for a grand. 1992 two door accord never missed a service in 33 years.
You gotta save up 150000 in the bank before shopping for a house bro at that price.

Exactly … I’m 62 and still don’t own a $750k house (and have no desire to).

750k house?
Why would you do that if you cant afford it?

What state do you live in?

This generation thinks it's unfair people have more money than they do.
They have been brainwashed that they are poor because Elon is rich.

Or, now hear me out, maybe you wait until you can afford to buy a 750k house???
I didn't purchase my first home until i was 32/33. My wife also works, and together we bought our first home, and it sure as shite didn't cost $750k. Hell, our 2nd home we built isn't 750k, and i don't foresee us moving out anytime soon if at all.
So my steps to buying a home:
1) If you are under 30 and single, don't buy, rent. Or if you want to buy, stay within your budget.
2) Get married and have dual income.
3) Do not feel entitled to own a home straight out of college.
4) Make smart financial decisions. Buy an espresso maker rather than spending $60/week in perpetuity on shitty coffee from Starbucks.

Gen Z wouldn’t be caught dead in those shacks. What would their instagram followers think?

Older generations lived in 2/3 bed 1 bath houses fairly commonly and did all their own repairs. Comparing this housing market where a home with 2+ bathrooms is the expectation to 30+ years ago is an apples to oranges situation. If you want to get the most bang for your buck in this economy go find an updated 3 bed 1 bath house in a good part of town and good school zone get a thorough inspection and then work to add a bathroom over time. You'll have a true investment home and be paying less than it would cost to rent.

If you’re buying a Starbucks latte and avocado toast everyday, you’re spending upwards of $5k on garbage

Bitching on the internet probably won’t help

Do these exist anymore?

This is patently false…housing affordability is at an all time low…it’s much, much worse than that time
frame.
