Anyone who is a fan of history or history podcasts should check it out. Only history podcast imo that rivals hardcore history is Daryl’s martyrmade.

Give context to why that is funny. I am looking for new pods.

I like to try to listen to Daryl, but man, he goes down some rabbit holes and I go off into lala land

I could never get into Hardcore History. I tried so many times. Dan's voice just irritated me and I could never finish an episode.

*licks lips repeatedly so loud*

I like martyrmade but the lip licking gets so distracting

Difference between the two as a longtime listener of each is that Cooper is naturally more curious. He doesn't care where the facts lead, and goes where they go. Carlin can avoid some things in his analysis.

MartyrMade's Rough Extraction on the WV Coal Wars should be required listening for anyone who has ever loved or lived in Appalachia.

He got ripped on here for some WWII revisionist history.

I know the Israel First crowd doesn't love him.

Martyrmade is my favorite podcast, but man it’s not a light listen.

some episodes can be very rough. The prologue for gods socialist about Jim jones was rough. The only podcast a friend of mine ever had to just turn off because the subject matter was so brutal.

His series on Israel/Palestine had me reading up a lot of information. I have a new/different perspective from about 6 years ago because of that reading.

check out martyrmade. I don’t think you’ll regret it. I’d say start with fear and loathing in new Jerusalem or God’s socialist but you really can’t go wrong with any of them. I will say there are some really graphic parts and I would not listen around children.

Every day I draw breath.

Blacks and Jews is my favorite. He dives into some minutiae, but it's necessary to fully understand the story.

The Complete Epstein Series is terrible. I mean, he did a great job with it, but it's genuinely unsettling.

I really like “The Rest is History” podcast.

Its Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook, two highly regarded historians

Same for me, but I recently listened to his "Mania for Subjugation" episodes about Alexander the Great (still a work in progress; he has only published 2 episodes in the series so far) and found it very easy to get into, in case you want to give it another try. After that I started Supernova in the East, and so far so good. Idk why but I could not get into Blueprint for Armageddon (most people’s favorite series) which is why I thought I was doomed to never like his stuff. I may give Blueprint another try after Supernova since I am more attuned to his voice now.
