It's child abuse, at its most basic level. The mother, based on her willingness at the time, should have been evaluated in a mental institution. She is obviously unfit as a mother, parent, and adult to make logical and rational decisions for herself and her child.
And the doctors who perform these kinds of procedures aren't any better.
