They have legit starting pitching. I know people still want to shite on Cam Johnson, but the way they're handling is setting them up to have a huge year if he keeps progressing the way he has. He's still not without issues, but he had his best outing of the year yesterday and seems to be improving with every start.
The Witherspoon brothers are both big time prospects, and they have a bunch of good relief arms behind them.
They recruit the shite out of JUCOs. They have three guys that start regularly for them that we looked at out of JUCO, the most notable being Dawson Willis from LSUE.
Now, whether they will hold up to the SEC grind is another question, but I think they're talented.

i would put TN at the top as well, with LSU closely behind. they seem to have a really good mix of power and pitching so far.

They've played a slightly harder schedule than us too. They haven't played a midweek game as tough at DBU (or possibly even Nicholls), but their weekend opponents were a little better than ours. The tournament fields were probably a wash or slight edge to them.
Their HR numbers are absolutely inflated by their park, but they still hit a bunch in Houston.
Their fans, who are generally awful, get mad when you bring up their crackerjack stadium but they hit a lot of HRs that would be outs even just in Alex Box. But they also suppress runs with their pitching in the same park, which is very impressive.

They played CSUN and he had 4 walks and a HBP in 5.1 IP. Still the same issues there with him through 3 games. He's obviously better than he was last year here but I wouldnt say he's getting any better than where he started this year if he's allowing a free pass an inning still.
