You lookin’ for a box, or single, 5, 10??

I literally know nothing about cigars. Give me some recommendations and ignore the price I posted

My Father cigars are nice high end sticks.
Best bet is to go to a cigar shop and talk to whomever is working for ideas for a good splurge in your price range. Could be a variety of singles, a box, a couple singles….just talk to them.

Or, box of 25 Perdomo Fresco Maduro Torpedo for $100. Great construction, great smoke…

My buddie is a huge cigar guy, and his main brand isn't Oliva. But I enjoy the hell out of them. It's a sweet spot for me. So darn good.
So take the other recommendations for sure, but know Serie V is so nice.

If this guy knows cigars, and has a humidor, get him a Pardon 5-cigar sampler. And ignore any recs from someone who refers to cigars as “sticks”.

Alternatively, if he already smokes cigars, you could buy a nice lighter. They are kind of expensive if you get nice ones.
I have this one and I love it.
Most guys won’t spend that kind of money on a lighter so gifting it is perfect.

I remember years ago in the 1950's and 1960's my grandfather loved White Owl cigars. He smoked one cigar a week on Sunday afternoon after Sunday lunch. I remember the whole house smelled of cigar smoke for a couple of day afterwards. I never picked up the cigar habit. During the same time period I remember my father smoking a pipe with Cherry Blend pipe tobacco. That really stunk up the house. Can you imagine both of them together on a Sunday after smoking a cigar and pipe together in the same room. It drove my mother and grandmother crazy. I had to go outside the house to breath easy.

Accidentally leave the receipt in the box. Nice little flex you can pull.

5 pack of Montecristo Classic Toro is a nice classy option for around $80.
Romeo & Julietta Reserve is a very solid smoke for a $50 5-pack.
Cohiba Red Dot is also a very nice smoke and will be around $80-$90 for a 5-pack.
ETA: as stated above, a perfect gift for someone who already is a cigar smoker is a nice lighter, cutter, punch, etc..

So I didn't know this until my buddy opened up his shop but there's the store cigars that you can get at Rouses and some gas stations. And then there's like craft cigars I guess, but eclectic is the cigar world term.
He could build you a box in your price range which has a variety of different flavors.

Seeing "White Owl Cigars" brought back some memories of my youth growing up back in the late 50's. One of my aunts and my grandma had befriended an older gent living a couple houses from them who was a widower and lived alone. He eventually was "adopted" by our family since he had none of his own and us kids called him "Grandpa" and he loved it.
When I spent time at grandma's house he'd often hand me money to run down to the drug store a block away to buy him his 2 White Owl cigars for the day and enough money for me to get a soda or candy bar for the task. It was so long ago I remember him giving me a quarter and me coming back with change for him after the 2 cigars and soda.
I got curious and looked on the net to see what they are costing today and found out they are just under $1 apiece if you buy them by the box of 50.

If you're spending that much for a gift for someone who smokes cigars please don't get him cigars. That's something he needs to choose and your choice probably wouldn't be his. If you're set on something cigar get a gift card to a nice cigar store.
