What Daryl Morey has been able to accomplish in Philly is truly amazing

He gave Embiid a 3 year $192 million extension that doesn't start until 26-27.

Of course it was just announced Embiid will be shut down for the rest of the season and his knee may be kaput for good this time.

Plus Podcast P still has another 3 years at $50+ million per on his contract.

Somebody will probably say it's the guaranteed contracts that are the problem but other GMs handle it. Presti has put together the best team in the league while keeping draft assets.

Philly does still have their picks from 2026 on so maybe the process starts again. Embiid and George seem untradeable at this point though.

Morey seemed to be ahead of the curve on some of the analytics, certainly around shooting and the elimination of the big man and the post up, but it’s been a TOUGH several years for him. It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up, you’d think his days in Philly have to be numbered and they’re going to blow the whole thing up as soon as possible

They are gonna hire Bob Meyers

76ers owner also owns the redskins

Meyers works for the redskins, he hired Dan Quinn before last season.

OKC owns Philly 1st round pick top 6 protected. So if pick is 7 or lower it conveys to OKC. If top 6 it goes to OKC next year.

The postmortem on this team is sad. Injuries have finally devastated all hope for this year. But even worse they aren't playing hard for Nick Nurse. That's a coaching/player problem and that's ridiculous. Maxey signs the contract of his life and he's slopping around. He will put up some numbers when he feels like it, but this Maxey is not the same guy I've watched since his rookie year. Man, he is my biggest disappointment and it isn't close. Just because he has always been my favorite player on the team and to watch him come and go like this is shocking. You don't sign a max contract and play like shite.

Doesn’t seem like that long ago when they had prime Durant, Westbrook and Hardin on the same team.

Their day is coming soon. With the new cap rules, OKC won't be able to pay all of their talented young guys at market value. They are going to have to consolidate over the next 2-3 years.

They have a million picks and with Presti’s record, I almost expect they’ll just reload with more young guys. Guys like Dort and Williams are great for what they do, but it’s not like they’re irreplaceable.

The gap between Presti and the next GM is massive. He’s just on another level, and doing it in the worst market in the league
