BR Business Report released the top earners in BR city parish government in 2024. The top earner was an officer in BRPD who reported 2,107 hours of overtime. That's the equivalent of 263 8-hour days.

That's Trump-esque stamina.

That's not an earner, that's a taker, and he's close to retirement, so he's upping his average hours to maximize his pension.

“2,107 hours of overtime“

Just think how much more money he is going to have now that he does not have to pay taxes on this income!

With 365 days in a year, that is almost 6 hours of overtime per day / every day of the year. How is this possible?

That's an average of 13.7 hours of work, every single day of the year.
I seriously doubt he was able to physically do that.

That’s a lot of overtime
I need East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office Chief Administrative Deputy Casey Rayborn Hicks to discuss this issue with me privately

OT should be capped at like 1,000 hours a year. Maybe less.

Outside of it being blatant theft, it’s a waste of fricking taxpayer money to pay all this OT.

If yall want that, go out in 20+ years at BRPD and then go work overtime.

Doesn’t bother me one little bit cause i am not about to do it ever want to do 20-+ years at BRPD. So if they want to work a bunch of overtime, go for it.

Plus, there is manpower issue in that department anyway and they don’t have some excess in officers so I’m sure there are plenty of shifts that have available hours if those guys want to work it.

He's probably double and triple dipping between actual OT, detail work, and writing tickets outside his jurisdiction.

LSP got popped for the same thing a few years ago.

I can almost guarantee it’s a DWI guy. This has been going on along time. Almost all those hours are sitting in the courthouse.

It’s not. It’s called fraud and why these guys aren’t prosecuted is beyond me. You could prove it in about 30 minutes yet we see this year after year

Are they too stupid to understand hiring another full time officer would be cheaper than a veterans OT of that many hours?

They must have some of those old “double time and a half” rules that used to exist.
