The video, posted to the X account Airport Webcams, showed a Southwest Airline flight preparing to land on a Midway Airport runway. Just before touching down, the plane can be seen lifting back up into the air as a jet crosses the runway.

Its almost like they hired the worst possible people for all positions in aviation.

Could this have happened somewhere else?

Funny how society is so hyper credentialed yet more incompetent than ever.

100%

If they were smart or capable, they wouldn’t need credentials

The guy in the private jet is clearly at fault here.

In 1987 how many times did an airplane that had zero damage or injuries almost have an accident with a private plane idiot?

Great awareness by the SW pilot. He should receive a medal.

No.

This is 100% on the PJ pilot. He fricked up royally and got sent to the penalty box.

showed a near miss between a Southwest Airlines flight and an "unauthorized" Flexjet business jet on a runway, with Southwest Airlines aborting a landing to avoid the plane.

What fines or penalties will the Flexjet pilot get?

The accented person is speaking with the landing aircraft. A different controller is talking to the PJ who very clearly says like 4 times to hold short of the runway and the PJ pilot just ignores him.

Hopefully he has his license pulled. Before everyone rushes to tell me that's an extreme reaction, suppose your wife or child was on the Southwest plane and they had collided. You'd want that pilot's arse handed to you on a silver platter.

Pilot should have his license revoked.

He will get a phone number to call to find out.
