If they ban it, it has to be enforced all the time. It was only arbitrarily enforced when it was banned.

It's one of the few plays reminiscent of old school football. They should keep it but make the use of equipment like should pads illegal.

I have no sound logical reason for it to be banned, other than I hate it and it sucks to watch.

Aren't the Packers the only team that has successfully stopped it? In the Brazilian opener?

There are a lot of people there that believe the guards are repeatedly aligned in an illegal formation or something when they do it, or so they say, and its never called.

If that is true, maybe that alone could be enforced

The push to ban this (no pun intended) is shocking. ONE team runs it with unmitigated success. That team also has probably the strongest and best power rushing qb of all time and an elite offensive line.

We watched this exact play cost the Bills a playoff game

It can suck to watch at times, but this is dumb.
If there's some alignment penalties they would be calling that they aren't, maybe start there

Goal line stands used to be one of the exciting things in football .

I don't remember seeing one in awhile.

Rugby doesn't call it something gay like the 'tush push'.

wasn’t it illegal to push the ball carrier from behind?

At least in college it was for a while.

Did I just accidentally end up in a thread talking about hating on the NBA?

It’s not dumb. Tush push can’t coexist with the forward pass.

What possible reason would there be for banning it?

It's a sports league made for entertainment. It's no fun knowing that this team will automatically get it if they're under "& 1.5" to go. I don't see why people think this is so complicated.

good grief. so you think it's perfectly healthy for one or two grown super human men to push one man into 2 or 3 or super human grown men? league doesn't care bc it isnt likely to cause brain damage.
