I don’t do anything but drink a protein shake every now and then. I should take creatine as there’s both pretty conclusive physical and conflictive benefits.

My personal opinion based on nothing concrete is supplements can gain you about a 5% increase in performance in aggregate. But most people eat like shite and don’t train hard so they’re essentially useless for that group. 5% increase of 20% of your potential means very little

I just drink water before and during the gym and occasionally a protein drink I got from Costco after. No other supplements and I’ve made noticeable progress the last few months

I mean the only supplements I take you can buy legally at any grocery store in the country without restriction or prescription, protein powder, boron, and recently creatine.

Never taken anything else and not on any hormone or test replacement despite being in my mid-late 40s.

I try to do all you suggested and very happy with my health and fitness currently. My workouts or short and focused, 40-45 min gym sessions with heavy (for me lifting). Only big change over the years is 3, occasionally 4 gym days a weeks is my sweet spot, as I age my body struggles to handle more workload than that and I need the recovery time. But still progressing.

Pretty much me. I take Creatine daily, and have some electrolytes in a water during the day, and again when working out at night. Occasionally a preworkout if I'm doing something for an hour or longer.

I supplement with protein, creatine, beta alanine (in gym days), boron, citruline and a sublingual vitamin D. No prescription based supplements, or illegal stuff, but not exactly minimalist.

beta alanine (in gym days),

Beta allows the cells to take in more oxygen which creates increased performance, but like creatine, it needs to be in the body in a steady state to really see the benefits. If you’re going to take it, it should be daily

Sugar free Liquid IV with 5g of creatine at 5:00am prior to working out. Have been adding 5g of glutamine recently to aid in recovery.

1/2 of a Total War pre-workout, which has some beta-alanine, caffeine, etc. on the beach drive to the gym.

Fair Life Elite 42g of protein post-workout.

I eat right, hydrate, get sunlight, and sleep well.

It’s pretty clear your premise is to seem “better than” because you don’t use any supplements, but you’re only limiting yourself and not any cooler because you don’t take well accepted nutritional support. But, good for you and I hope you’re ego driven decision to post this worked out for you.

I’ve read that it’s good for the vascular system and blood pressure. I guess for lifting the rationale is better blood flow, better pumps, but the other health benefits are cool too. Even though they may be insignificant.

I lift 6 days a week now if I’m able, so I think I’m probably pretty well saturated. Really though, I just like the stimulant tingles which as a benefit is probably just placebo, but any advantage is a good advantage if there are no negative repercussions.

I take:
Multi, fish oil, vit d, nattokinase, magnesium glycinate, and boron.

Am I the only one that creatine makes uncomfortably bloated?

Costco

How do you know someone shops at Costco? Wait five seconds and they'll tell you.

The only things I take regularly specifically for working out is a protein shake since it's free. I'll take pre workout on occasion but it's not often.

Daily I take a multi, fish oil, and boron. On TRT but that's medicinal so it doesn't count.
