This was always likely to occur as he got popular, more establishment, and older. It's a tale as old as time.
The shift happened years ago, too. People are just noticing it now b/c of the Trump/Elon stuff.

The entire article is based upon a Rogan subReddit, that they admit is more liberal than his regular audience and has criticized him for years, so it's basically a completely fake article.

There are a bunch of comedian subreddits that are basically just hate feats for the comedians they’re named after. The fighter and the kid subreddit is the most famous of the group.

I would guess at a minimum for everyone 1 lost listener because he has become less of a lefty he has gained at least 1 more listener.
Also, they are using the word “liberal” incorrectly, Rogan is still a liberal. There’s nothing “liberal” about democrats in 2025.

It's changed a great deal, but not because of Trump/Elon or the 2024 election or anything like that.
It's largely become the meme "Joe Rogan is Oprah for men" with a changing focus on promoting big celebrities and he rarely, if ever, introduces new/interesting people with new/interesting ideas. He will recycle lots of people who were new/interesting people with new/interesting ideas from 10 years ago. Adding to that collection is much more rare than in the past.
I don't like it that much anymore but becoming "Oprah for men" is clearly much more financially successful, so I have no hate for ole Joe. He made a business decision.

I listen to Rogan a lot and I think he’s a very intelligent person who sees the Dems are corrupt and evil.
I think he has really come to respect trump and musk but I don’t get the feeling he is a die hard for them. He very much would criticize them if he felt it was warranted.
That’s why I like listening to him, because he does have his biases but he seems to be more intellectually honest.

Boy, the Deep State sure does panic when somebody starts "following the money." I've seen lighthearted videos on YouTube about puppies and kittens, and yet the 5th message in the comments section is something like "Kiss my arse, idiot!"
I know this is just a thinly-veiled Musk/Rogan hit piece, but what a totally weak-arse attempt. Frankly, I take it as just one more indication that Mr. Musk and his gifted Geek Squad are not only squarely over several sacred-cow targets, but they're also performing with the precision of laser surgery.
